Nice room overlooking the ocean, nice fridge, bed OK, TV SUCKS go an excuse that the antenna blew off the roof. Old hotel but updated . Nice area

Staff was extremely friendly. Made you feel at home. Room was spotless and bathroom extremely clean. Windows could have used maybe some extra window coverings. And it was quite stuffy definitely could use small air conditioner

The Mayfair offers up Victorian charm with modern amenities. It’s a grand old lady of the shore. It was spotless, my room had a wonderful coastal vibe to it, and the view of the ocean from my window was magnificent! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the concierge/proprietor(?), Theresa, was awesome! So accommodating! This was my first time staying at the Mayfair since I lived at the Jersey shore for over 40 years. When I go back for a visit, I know where I’m staying!

Beautiful ocean front view room was very clean but the bed is a fold out cot. Glad I brought my own pillows staff is very helpful and friendly lobby is laid out beautifully with flowers and decorations would be nice if they pumped in some nice music came on off-season but I’m sure parking in the summer could be a nightmare

I loved how the hotel was right on the beach! I highly would recommend and ocean front room. You can leave the door open and hear the waves the whole time. Easy street parking (during the fall) and would love to stay again.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean but very small and only had a bed, refrigerator and end table. But the hotel is right next to the beach so we spent of out time outdoors

Lovely old hotel right on the beach. We had an oceanfront room with great view. Room was small but newly renovated and charmingly decorated. There was no closet though or place to put clothes. Not even a luggage stand. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lobby had lots of different areas to sit, read, work, watch TV, or eat (your own food).

Seriously was such a cute little place for a girls weekend! Stayed one night and it was perfect for what we needed. Friendly staff, clean room and shower. If you bring your own food there’s a fridge in the room and microwave in lobby .. really great chill spot in the front too over looking the water. Really felt welcome!

Great location right on the beautiful beach. Extremely nice folks running the hotel, with a family feel, not a corporate cut-out kind of place, which was lovely. If they put light blocking drapes in the windows, as an option when the sun comes up, it'd be even better. The view was fabulous though, and the room very nice. Good experience all round, highly recommended.

The Mayfair is a classic hotel. This is our second stay there. The hotel is well kept, the pool is well maintained, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It is literally across the street from the beach. Finding street parking in Belmar in the summer can be a challenge. It would be nice if the window curtains blocked the sun or you will wake up at sunrise. It would help if the curtains didn't block the window A/C when they are closed, but we managed that with a few binder clips. Also, be aware the hotel has three guestroom floors above the lobby level, so be prepared to climb the stairs as there is no elevator. If you are looking for a nice, clean, safe place to stay at the beach, we recommend the Mayfair.

Location, location, location!
The hotel is outdated, but clean and the location is excellent. The rooms are small. The lobby is lovely and there is a sun room and porch. The staff is excellent. It reminds me of an old shore boarding house. I would recommend it because it is clean, the staff is very nice and accommodating and it is directly across from the beach!

Great stay - welcoming and friendly staff , very helpful! - comfortable room and bed - beautiful view I had in the room. Room was clean and bright ! Pool is great! Located Right across from the beach. Only negative ( nothing to do with the hotel or staff) is the off site parking in the area- very difficult to park. But if you're lucky , I was, you can grab a spot in front / close to building! Just a " heads up" no elevator... Overall, great place to stay in a safe environment ( Belmar NJ)

The staff is great, really friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic you literally could not get closer to the beach. The pool is somewhat unnecessary as you’re at the beach and the lack of parking is definitely a hassle. The room was very small but nice. You’re paying for location but not for an extravagant hotel.

Be forewarned, this is primarily a halfway house for recovering alcoholics. It is nowhere near as well-kept as the photos imply, and for lack of a better term, the vibe is off. The AC is portable window units, the rooms are bare-bones to say the least, but for what it’s worth, the staff was very accommodating and helpful.

Too bright
The rooms are tiny. No black out curtains, so the sun wakes you right away. The bed was broken. The air conditioner was loud. They did switch my room to one without a broken bed as soon as i notified them so the staff was great and it was clean. Would never visit again though.

Husband and stayed for a week at this location. The property is not handicap accessible, so be prepared to have to climb the stairs to get to your room. Our room was ocean front and very clean, the maid changedour sheets every coulle of days. We were very disappointed that the pool area was not open or available to for use. The hotel is located right across from the beach, which was very convenient. The otherside of the hotel needs a bit of attention especially the gardens. Several restaurants are in walking distance.

Wonderful old hotel right on the beach. The room was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The climb to the second floor was very difficult for us as we are ‘older’ but the gentleman who checked us in carried our luggage up when we checked in and out. High marks for this property.

It's close to the beach and within walking distance of restaurants, shops, bars, etc. Its cheap for the area but it feels like that's all you reslly get, the location. Rooms are generally small, with not a lot in them. It was just an average experience.
