"10/10 hospitality from Guido and Krista! We thank you for your insight, recommendations and perspective! Casita 3 was a fabulous getaway for a week. Kitchen is adequate, as we did prepare most of our dinners there. The deck and views are fabulous. The mattress is very comfortable! Water quality and water pressure are great. Guido and Krista responded right away to an unexpected water pressure surprise. It’s close to Restaurant Teosinte, which should not be missed! Don’t forget Juan’s farm tour!...

"When we arrived at Finca Lucky we didn't receive the confirmation email for the key. It was very stressful, as this made me distrustful. We had to ask the neighbors for the phone number of the owner's contact. The house was a mess. The sheets were thrown on the bed. The curtains were not put up. We had to clean everything ourselves. The internet is terrible, it doesn't work well. There are no televisions. I didn't see any maintenance done to the pool. We stayed for 8 days and they didn't have...

"Came here as part of a family trip and honestly wasn't sure what to expect from a boutique hotel tucked into the jungle. Left completely blown away. The staff is what sets this place apart, from the front desk to the restaurant team — is genuinely warm. Not "hotel-trained warm," but actually present and attentive. They remember your name, they check in on you, and they do it without being intrusive, they go above and beyond on multiple occasions. You feel like a guest in someone's home, not a room number. The food at Almar is seriously no joke. I've eaten at some great spots and this restaurant punched above its weight in a big way. Chef Hugo puts real thought and care into every plate — local ingredients, clean flavors, beautiful presentation. And breakfast every morning was something I actually looked forward to. We ate there every single morning and never got tired of it. The daily yoga class was a nice surprise too. I don't have a regular practice at home but I showed up most mornings and it genuinely added something to the trip. The instructors know what they are doing and makes it accessible no matter your level. Hard to beat starting your day with that, surrounded by jungle. The vibe here is intentional — slow, calm, adults only. If you're looking for a party hotel, this isn't it. But if you want to actually decompress, eat really well, and be taken care of by people who actually seem to enjoy what they do — ESH is the one."

"Centrally located but quiet. Great staff. Beautiful pool and shared kitchen and cabana area. For the price, it’s very good/what you would expect. The rooms are simple and parts of the facility are old, but that is why it is priced more affordably than other hotels. I would definitely stay there again if I stay in the same financial bracket. If I had more money, I would ideally like to have a more comfortable mattress and newer windows that close fully and no smell of mold. But all in all, me and my son were very grateful for this charming place that gave us a place to land and lay our heads and have some respite from the hot humidity outside. We loved the pool and the fact that delicious restaurants and beautiful beaches were just a few minutes walk."

"The staff were accommodating and always willing to help. Our room was lovely and as advertised online. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. The pools were wonderful and our spa experience was extremely positive. Overall good value for dollar. Our only complaint would be the cost of a poolside drink - it was wild!"

"Our stay exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and comfortable. The made-to-order breakfast was fresh, delicious, and accommodated our dietary needs (dairy/gluten free and vegetarian). The staff were professional, friendly, always willing to help, and made us feel at home. Loved the free laundry service! The onsite Safari Surf School offers excellent surf lessons, and we enjoyed every moment with them. The all-sand Guiones Beach, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, had ideal waves for us beginner surfers. We also enjoyed a birdwatching tour in the Reserva Biológica Nosara. We would love to return and meet the onsite naturalist, who was away during our stay, to go on a night birdwatching tour next time."
