Nice time. Second time to stay at this location. Had an issue with the TV, but was resolved the next day. Good location to stay if planning to go to different parts of Savage Gulf.
Just what we were looking for. Clean and cute. Close to Savage Gulf State Park. Not too close to anyone else. Right next to the small lake. Quiet with pretty views.
The stay was wonderful, the cabin is beautiful, everything is very clean and the area is very nice, we were hiking in the area and everything was very pleasant.
We really liked having access to the pond, as not only was it beautiful but gave us many activities to do. Cabin itself was clean and comfortable overall.
Very pleasant clean, neat little cabin on a quiet little lake. Secluded but not remote. Excellent appliances and furnishings. Will stay again soon we hope.
We were there seeing close friends in beautiful Beersheba Springs.
The property met all our needs and we took advantage of a sunny morning to sit on the back deck overlooking the pond. Perfect.
House as described. Has a coffee pot/kuerig combo and nicely provided k-cups. Deck and firepit are nice. Stairs to upstairs beds are steep.Keep in mind there are no closets or kitchen towels. King bed was ok if slept in middle. Had indentions already on sides. Did not fish, but looks like good place for it bringing own gear. Close to Home restaurant in Altamont was good. Hiking was the reason we chose the area. We do want to visit the area again in the future.
The cabin appears to be relatively new and in great condition. Everything was clean and perfect for a couple or a small family. We used the cabin as a base to explore the surrounding areas. If your a hiker, make sure to visit the Stone Door trail; beautiful rock outcroppings overlooking the surrounding mountains! And its only a few minutes from the cabin. Greeter falls was also a beautiful hike even though the falls were dry. The cabin was very comfortable and the owners even provided firewood for the fire pit and left a kayak for the lake. I will note that the cabin isn't as remote and private as it seems in the pics. It is located about 100 yards behind someones house, with another house and cabin also within sight. Although I was disappointed that it wasn't as private as I had hoped, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Beersheba Lake Retreat was a great place to relax! The sounds of frogs is great at night. Our coffee pot didn’t work & they came out & replaced it quickly. The house could use more items to make it more like a home while you’re away. There was a charcoal grill, but no charcoal. Pots & pans, but no colander, no Tupperware to keep left overs in and no foil or plastic bags. The nearest store isn’t far, but we didn’t want to buy everything & take it with us. The whole reason we chose a Vrbo is so we can eat home cooked meals. We made do, but would suggest you bring your own items or the owner purchase such things to keep at the house.
It was a beautiful setting to be in. The lake was amazing & hearing all the frogs at night was fun. The cottage itself was so cute & well designed it to maximize the space. The kitchen was the perfect size & the view out the back porch was refreshing.
I really appreciated that this place was pet friendly so I was able to bring my two dogs. However, during the email notification process before checkin, saw there would be a $100 fine if dog hair was found in the sheets. I brought dog beds for my dogs to sleep in on the floor anyway, but I don’t know about any other pet owners, I get dog hair on me & it goes in my sheets too because it’s on my clothes :). So that was a little stressful.
My only real issue was the king bed frame was noisy (loud any time you moved) & I found the bed itself uncomfortable which was sad. I think a new bed would make this place the perfect getaway.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars in cleanliness was the bugs in the house, and having to wash some dishes that I pulled out of the cabinet that just didn’t look clean. Also a clump of hair in the sheets when I got in bed the first night. The sheets were clean, it was just clearly from the dryer. It was ironic considering the dog hair fee listed :). Remember you’re in the woods, so lots of bugs outside. Had to kill a few spiders inside, but again, you’re deep in the woods, so you expect some of that wildlife.
Overall a really cute cottage & a beautiful environment to take in & get away!
The area is beautiful and a great waterfall close by. The disappointment in trying to fish was a let down . The lily pads were so grown up around banks of lake. That was one of the reasons to pick the spot where we could fish. The kayak was nice but my husband cant swim so not a good idea to send him in kayak. Life preserve would be a good idea to keep there as well.
We stayed here for our honeymoon! We were planning to be out for most of our time, and have the cabin to come back to at night; however, the weather had other plans for us! But nothing was nicer than having a nice, cozy cabin to hole up in and watch the rain! It was especially nice to sit on the back porch and listen to the nature as it rained! We definitely plan to come back!!
Very nice clean place. Very quiet and pretty place. Joe the manger is very nice and answered the phone right away.
Cabin has everything needed including a couple fishing rods. Just supply the crickets or worms. Very highly recommended.
