Warm, welcoming reception from our hostess Sue. We were lucky enough to be the only guests so were really spoiled! Our room was large, well appointed, beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was also very clean and well decorated. The breakfast menu was varied and delicious. We stayed at Newsham Grange on our first night of a driving holiday and, as I suspected, we were spoiled as not all our accommodation was as good as this.Thank you Sue, you are a wonderful...

The room and the entire property was very well presented and fresh. The restaurant was also exceptional with top level table service and a great menu. Only negatives are that road facing room was a little noisy during the morning and evening rush hours and the security light in the room was quite intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stop over.

We returned here this year after enjoyjng our stay last year and we were again very happy. The staff friendliness, lovely very comfortable rooms and wonderful breakfast did not disappoint. Being able to have dinner in the restaurant is a definate plus with not having to go out after a long day driving. We would definitely recommend staying here.

This was a great place to stay in between a busy schedule. Great room, great staff, and fantastic food at the restaurant. It would have been nice to stay a little longer.

The owner is lovely, rooms are clean and bright, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook up your own meals, if required. We bought delicious black pudding from M & S nearby and cooked up a storm!. The location is fantastic. So close to all shops, parks, buses and rail.
Minimal traffic noise, quiet area in general.

It’s so hard to find the quintessential English pub these days but the shoulder of mutton hits the spot.
The food was home cooked and great, not prepackaged
Pub was clean, no damp or mould
The view from the beer garden was amazing overlooking the valley
The room was Pub basic but clean and not mouldy.
Price point was spot on
Publican and chef fantastic
Highly recommend
