Quiet Comfortable Cabin 5 Min. Walk to Swimming and Boating

  • Remember the simple pleasures of a country, lakeside holiday where you can spend the day swimming or boating, exploring the countryside, or just read the afternoon away on the screened-in porch? Get back to those simple pleasures in our cabin, located in a beautiful, quiet country setting in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains. The cabin is just a five minute walk to a lake where you can swim, fish (catch and release-permit required), kayak or canoe (boats, paddles and life jackets provided). Or spend the day exploring the many surrounding towns with antiques, restaurants and shopping galore; take a drive down a country road looking for roadside farm stands; go for a long walk in the woods; or explore the nearby rock quarry (the app AllTrails is a must have for this!). At night, have dinner at an outdoor restaurant, grill on the deck, relax with a glass of wine on the porch, roast marshmallows, do a puzzle, or enjoy your favourite streaming on our Roku TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and more. The house has one large main room with living and kitchen areas, and two small bedrooms.
    The larger room has a queen bed with a comfy mattress and luxurious linens. The smaller bedroom has a full-size bed and narrow twin upper bunk (for children only). There is a cosy screened-in front porch with lounge furniture and fan, and a back deck with gas grill and seating for four. Between the natural setting and nearby cultural and outdoor attractions, you're sure to find plenty to do here to relax and have fun at a safe distance from others.

The cottage is charming. Everything you need for a relaxing stay in the forest! The host’s house instructions are incredibly clear and anticipated any questions I could have. Sherwood Forest is very peaceful!

The cabin is kind if a self contained oasis. It has everything you might want, is very comfortable and close enough to Lee, Stockbridge and even North Adams. It would be perfect for a family or a couple. I stayed to meditate, quietly play acoustic guitar on the nice screen porch, practice Tai Chi and visit the area. All delightful! Thank you. :)

Great Cabin with great walks neaby

This cabin was comfortable and well equipped. The big advantage was the nearby opportunities for walks and swimming. There's also a great breakfast/lunch restaurant/store less than 5 minutes away by car.

The cabin is quiet, tidy, and comfortable. It is within driving distance of several hiking trails and was a great place to spend a long weekend. The host was friendly and communicative, and made sure that we had everything we needed for a nice stay.

Secluded cozy cabin

Quiet wooded getaway

Very cute cabin surrounded by trees. Great to be able to cook in your well equipped kitchen with the option to bbq outside if you wanted. Loved the evenings around the firepit. Enjoyed having the kitchen extras, loads of towels (for swimming too ) and the use of Bose speaker.

Sherwood Forest Gem

We’ve stayed at the cabin with our dog four times and always enjoy our peaceful stay. It’s cozy, clean and private. Also, the Sherwood Shoppe - just down the road - is a wonderful place for breakfast, homemade chili and much more.

Perfect cabin

Sweet getaway

Our stay was perfect. Easy check in, wonderful location and oh the charm! We were looking for a quiet, peaceful place in the woods by a lake and that’s what we got. Our host Djuna left easy instructions and a bottle of wine! The forests were fun to explore, the people in the town are so nice and friendly, all around this is a great place to relax.

Wonderful House in the Berkshires

My wife and I stayed in this wonderful house for 12 days in October. The house is cute, clean and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the firepit and walking the neighborhood. The owner communication was timely and easy.

Wonderful peace

I spent a great time relaxing in the serene nature surrounding this most comfortable home. Djuna was a wonderful host for the stocked kitchen and bathroom along with delicious wine . I will be looking forward to escaping here again when I need some peace and quiet and a lovely look at the stars.

Excellent stay for my family and I during Memorial Day weekend. Though the weather was less than ideal (rainy and overcast throughout), the cabin itself made for a cozy experience. The cabin was comfortable, fully stocked with all the essentials, and the covered porch was an awesome space to enjoy a cup of tea with the pattering rain offering a delightful ambience. Host was easy to communicate with and had a bottle of wine sitting for us at the table. The only downside was us realizing how we're very much city people, as every rustle of leaves, unfamiliar sound, and the pitch darkness of the forest left us terrified (probably didn't help that we were watching horror movies all weekend.) Also, on one evening as we were driving back, we saw a group of bear cubs tousling right on the road outside the cabin! They were very cute, but you'd best believe I spent the night reading up on bear attacks. All in all, would highly recommend staying here.
