Convenient Beaver Island Location

Enjoy your vacation at the Freesoil Blue House rental in the heart of downtown Beaver Island. Located just off the main road, this tranquil rental offers walking and biking access to restaurants, shops, entertainment, and pristine beaches—perfect for a family getaway. You can grill or stroll downtown for a bite to eat. It's a wonderful spot to escape and unwind while providing something for everyone. It's a place to relax during the day and enjoy the silent island nights.

Leave your cares behind while you enjoy your visit. This rental offers two bedrooms with a Double and a Queen bed, and the loft has two Twins. There is also a double fold-out couch for extra sleeping. All linens are included, and there is a laundry facility. Netflix and the Internet are also included.

You will be staying next to the historical St James Boat Shop. This new shop was built in 2017, and the craft continues with Dan Burton and his family. We have been crafting handcrafted cherry wood boats and buckets since 1985.

Property was convenient to a grocery store, a restaurant and a brewery. The location was excellent. We also enjoyed using Netflix while we relaxed in the evening. I liked that both bedrooms were on the main floor (we didn't use the loft at all).

Great place to stay in town.

We had a great time staying in this little cottage in town. Convenient to everything whether you chose to walk or drive. Clean and comfortable to just relax and regroup when getting ready for your next island adventure.

Amazing island, great stay

Just a great place, start to finish. Carol makes you feel at home from the start and everything about the place was just so great. Can't say enough good things about the Blue House/Carol and Beaver Island as a whole. Already started figuring out how to go back next year!

The house is always clean and comfortable, with some goofy board games and lots of cozy blankets. We appreciated the quiet place to rest on our work trip to the island.

3 night stay on Beaver Island

This is our second visit to Beaver Island because we absolutely love it! The house was cozy, comfortable and homey. It was perfect for our purpose of enjoying the island. We also like that the location- right in the heart of downtown/ close to the ferry, restaurants, grocery store. and the public beach. We’ll definitely be back

Perfect house & location for our stay

We were on Beaver Island for a family wedding. The location was great! Walking distance to/from the ferry, the market and the Strawberry Cafe is right across the street, and the home is very close to the Lodge which was where the wedding was held. The home was clean and well-stocked. Our 6 adults fit comfortably in the home. Communication was great! We were very happy with our short stay here!

Beaver Island Little Gem

Great little cottage just steps away from water, store, brewery, restaurant and short walk to much more! Beds were comfy, lots of fans to help keep cool and the host was accommodating. We also rented a car through them which is needed to get to the beaches. Also have electric bikes.

Cozy, quiet, but easy access to everything.

Great place, good for a winter getaway for one or two people. Would be equally good for a family with 3 kids in the summer. Basically right next door to the only grocery store on the island. Walking distance to everything in town. Sure, you can find places on the island that are out in the middle of the woods. Probably for triple the price. But don't let the location fool you. It's Beaver Island. It's ALL quiet and remote relative to what the vast majority of people are used to. Even in town you can interact with as many, or a few people as you'd like. Many other island options are just not feasible without a vehicle. This location is perfect for those who don't want the added expense of renting or bringing one over on the boat.

Nice little house. In process of being updated.

We arrived Sunday night. Had to walk from ferry to house. Not a bad walk, recent foot surgery made the walk a little more difficult. Beaver island publication indicated bike, car & golf cart rentals were available. No golf cart rentals on island & almost everything was closed on Sundays, which would have been good to know, as we planned on transportation & dinner out, that night. Husbands to the rescue and found a gas station opened and bought frozen pizza. The house was able to sleep 6, 2 bedrooms downstairs with 2 twin beds upstairs. No air conditioning however fans were available. House is in process of being updated...washer and dryer had been removed (rental photo shows w&d in kitchen area). Sofa had a stretch cover which kept shifting and sliding around. Adequate pots and pans, cups and glasses, plates and eating utensils. Carol brought over more towels upon request. A few more restaurants were open on Monday, mostly quick "bar" food, several more opened on Tuesday for the remainder of the week. Steve at the brewery was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the island eateries. People, in general, very friendly. Electric bike rentals were very expensive. We ended up renting a car from Carol, until Tuesday.

Very cute, inside and out. Within walking distance of what we needed it to be. Friendly and helpful hosts. Hosts also offer rental car. Very reasonable price (we were there in October.)

Everything you need for a enjoyable vacation is all right there. Ebike rentals, car rental, grocery store, pub. Great location! Awesome owners who were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
