We were extremely pleased with this gem! The place was clean, host was easy to contact, and we enjoyed the boat and firepit. The bed was comfortable and the host paid a lot of attention to details. Overall, an excellent experience that I would recommend to others.

Wonderful weekend, clean and comfortable home on a beautiful lake. Kitchen stocked with pans and appliances so it was easy to cook and we enjoyed our meals on the deck. Quiet neighborhood and can't say enough praise of the lakeview. Nice grass area that was stocked with firewood. Host has thought of everything, even chargers in main bedroom for phones. Roku, puttgolf game and fishing poles!!! 5 stars

Sweet and Cozy

We were just in for a weekend getaway, this spot was perfect. Great view and access to the lake. My boys enjoyed going out fishing and just being outside. Everything was good!

We love this lake cottage!

We just spent our 4th new year retreat at Skinner Lake cottage. It is so peaceful, comfortably furnished, close to great places to eat and shop. We bring all our books, make a meal or tea, and relax. Monday was sunny and we had our coffee and read out on the deck. We love this place!

Peaceful Getaway

Probably not the place for family vacations, but my wife and I were very happy with our stay. If you’re wanting a place to just go and relax with your special someone this is a great choice.

Great Stay

This was our second year to enjoy time at the Lake Cottage. The "lake" theme is tastefully carried throughout. Access to the paddle boat and the canoe is a plus. Really enjoy waking up in the morning, sitting on the deck, and enjoying the view across the lake. The owners are wonderful to work with. We will definitely be looking to rent it for a third time.

This peopert lacks NOTHING!! Not only is it beautiful and cozy, the owner has thought of everything to make the stay more wonderfull. We really enjoyed the paddle pontoon too. Oh yeah, the lake is nice too ! 🙂

Tranquility at its Best

The host provided everything guests needed and more. The place was lovely and peaceful - just what we wanted. Beautiful lake view from the deck. Loved the fact that bottles of cold water were in the refrigerator for us when we arrived - much needed and so thoughtful. I use a walker and all rooms, porch and deck were accessible.

Relaxing stay

We genuinely enjoyed our stay. The lake was beautiful and it was nice having the town so close by. The cottage was nicely stocked with amenities. Our one complaint was the bed was extremely soft with a foam mattress topper. Both my husband and I prefer a firmer mattress. Short of that, we have zero complaints and look forward to visiting again.

Nice, Large Cabin Right on the Lake

This is a nice and spacious cabin, right on the lake. The cabin is well appointed and supplied, and clearly well cared for. The back deck would be very nice for the summertime (not so much for us in winter). I took one star off for location because the front of the cabin is right on the highway (set back a bit), with neighbors all around. However, sitting in the back you may not notice.

Welcoming and well equipped house

This exceeded our expectations. It was warm and welcoming and the owners had thought of so many things that made the visit nice. Location is wonderful with a great view of the lake. Right on a highway but the house was very quiet. We used it as a base for our visit to Chain O Lakes park. Very convenient

Low key and stress free

Very cute place inside and love the patio view. Dont let the outside front view of the neighborhood worry you at first.. just walk in and go to the back lake view. Very quiet in the house, comfy and cuteness all around. Really enjoyed the stay and will book again. It would be perfect for a family with small children based on the bedroom size. Teens dont work as well with the bunks and futon. We used the couch and bunk and it worked fine. The other option is an air mattress and the enclosed porch. Two thumbs up overall!

It was exactly what we needed

What an amazing vacation. We drove up and the front of the house was so cute and inviting. I couldn’t wait to open the door after reading all of the reviews. The entry is roomy, so we were able to bring our things in the front door and drop them while we figure out where to keep it all. The 2nd bedroom isn’t huge, but it works great as a place to sleep. The main bedroom had a closet, dresser and side tables ready for your USB devices. The mattress was so comfy that we bought one for our own bed at home. The bathroom is big and it has a washer and dryer. I am always prepared, so I brought plenty of items just in case like Ziploc bags, trash bags, aluminum foil, etc. Nope. No need. Everything you need is already there. We spent lots of time on the deck and took advantage of the paddleboat. The lake is murky, but welcome to Indiana lakes. We didn’t have luck fishing either, but we had a good time trying. We used the charcoal grill to make brats, and we used the fire pit to make s’mores. It was calming, peaceful and relaxing. What more could you want?

Beautiful, cozy cabin right on the lake. We enjoyed the paddleboat, charcoal grill and firepit! If you happen to forget anything there’s a Walmart not too far away. View is amazing and we loved having our morning coffee on the deck. Fireplace was nice too! Cabin is well equipped with everything you need and our host is so kind!
