My thoughts
This is a beautiful place to stay. If you are looking for a little break from reality then this is your place. The views are breathtaking!! It’s is very clean and pleasant. The only point I would make is that it may be useful to have some extra pillows.

What an amazing stay
What an amazing apartment this was. When you first walk in, you immediately see how well the apartment is put together and maintained. It was immaculate. The appliances are high quality. The living areas were all comfortable and I just can't say enough about the patio. We spent an enormous amount of our time there. It's comfortable, shaded (if you want) and has an absolute amazing view. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. I just can't say enough about the apartment. My family and I are already talking about going back next year. Thank you, Sonja.

Clean, cozy, comfortable , spacious rental with absolutely gorgeous view.
We were very pleased with our stay in Beatenberg. Having never been to Switzerland before, we had no expectations but staying at this property exceeded anything we could have hoped for. Sonja was very accommodating and friendly and was there when we arrived. Just a few suggestions that might make it more comfortable and convenient for the next person(s). We were required to pay a 60 franc city tax fee which wasn't mentioned in the listing. That meant we had to find a bank in Interlaken to exchange the currency. It would be nice if that was included in the price. The bedding in the bedrooms was unique. There were no sheets, just pillow shams and a comforter with a duvet insert. The suggestion would be to have sheets and pillows with pillow cases for sleeping. Finding the location was a little tricky. It mentions coming to a green bucket with a mirror. This literally is a dog poop container on the side of the road. The mirror is on top so you can see oncoming cars from the opposite direction. The address of the property is actually #72. I had to ask a neighbor if she new Sonja and she directed me. It is on the curve (or corner) of the street. as indicated. Lastly, I asked Sonja about the washer and dryer. I think she said it wasn't included but I could be wrong. She spoke better English than my German but I may have misunderstood her. She ended up showing me where the units were and how to use them but they were in a storage room next to the house which was accessible and used by others below and above us. Made it kind of uncomfortable but we were able to use them nonetheless. I would also suggest stopping at the Information Center in Beatenberg. They (Kimberly) were very helpful and friendly and spoke English. Overall, we loved our stay in Beatenberg/Interlaken. Great access to the Jungfrau Region and Bern. We would definitely stay there again.

May vacation 2019
We had no difficulty finding the property and the host was very helpful in showing us around. Unfortunately having had four clear days while driving down the clouds arrived as we drove into Switzerland, On Thursday the clouds cleared and the view from the property is magnificent. We had a very relaxing week with a few trips out including a drive to Lucern (one of the cloudy days). We already have a list of things to do on our next visit.

Beautiful view of the Alps and the lakes. Spacious, well appointed.
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely chalet. The view from the deck is amazing and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck. We could walk to restaurants and basic shopping. We also used the bus to take us to Interlaken. The only negative we found was that you can look into the master bathroom from the living room area. It appears to be a one-way mirror. We solved that problem by closing the curtain around the tub to block the view. Some of the clown dolls are a little creepy, but we just ignored those and concentrated on all of the positives. Sonja was very helpful and informative. We would definitely stay here again.

herzlichen Dank für die tolle Bewertung,Einige der Clownpuppen sind etwas gruselig, das sind keine Clownpuppen,das sind handgefertigte Porzelanpuppen des Miusicel Cats. das einseitige Fenster im Bad,ist gedacht,wenn sie in des Wellness Wanne sitzen, sehen sie durch das Fenster die traumhaft schöne Bergwelt,ja und am Abend zieht man den Vorhang vor , umm nicht im Rampenlicht zu stehen.

Just beautiful, way better that we hoped!
What a wonderful time we had at this beautiful chalet! It was beyond lovely, and we had everything and more that we could have wanted. The level of luxury, comfort and of course the view were just spectacular. Our hostess Sonja could not be there when we arrived but she had her lovely neighbor greet us and show us around the place. We were grateful for her warmth and friendliness, and when we did meet Sonja a couple of days later we found her to be just as warm and welcoming. There is absolutely no truth to the previous reviewer’s description of her. The drive up to Beatenburg from Interlaken was long and curvy but how else to get such a view?? We cooked two Swiss-style dinners there in the well-equipped kitchen complete with two fondue pots, one for the cheese and one for the chocolate! Our favorite activity during the entire trip was to drive about 1/2 mile up the main road (we could have walked) where we took the funicular down to Lake Thun and caught the next lakeboat for an extremely charming cruise to Thun where we had dinner at a great Italian restaurant surrounded by flowers and situated at the very bank of a fast-flowing river running right through town. Also the Interlaken area was the perfect central base for our other Swiss adventures, too. I could go on and on but obviously all four of us loved our stay. I think that if I were ever so blessed as to go back to Switzerland, I would definitely stay there again. Kathy Jones

Beware!!Host is very rude and treats you very badly
Difficult to find the apartment because the host’s English is not good so directions were confusing, we even tried to call her but her phone was not reachable , it is quite far from Interlaken so please keep that in mind The house was clean and the view is good Sonja was there as we arrived and guided us through the house showing us every switch and button and Do’s and Donts She specifically asked us when we would check out The hot water went and we stayed for a day without it, we reached out to Sonja but no reply from her end Luckily my husband figured out the problem in the switch board and fixed it otherwise we would have been without it for our entire stay We had an early morning flight and were surprised to see a car had blocked our car at 4.30 am at the time of check out It was Sonja she came to the house and took half an hour to check the entire house delaying us for the flight We had left some dishes in the dishwasher to be cleaned and were going to start it before going, she made a big deal out of it and for that she charged a big amount . According to her it was written in a paper which was kept at one place and not handed to us, not everyone has a habit of reading We had no other option but to pay as we had a flight to catch We had kept the apartment very clean and untouched even with a small baby She was so rude, my baby was sleeping, he had high fever and she barged in the room was making so much noise without any consideration for a small baby If you want to get insulted stay in this house Also she charged us a hefty amount as city tax for which she didn’t give receipt

Perfect honeymoon location
Overall experience was amazing! The mountain views and lake views were gorgeous. The house itself was very large and spacious feeling. The kitchen is large and has many kitchen accessories to use for cooking. Sonja is a wonderful host and the neighbors around her are super friendly. Make sure you follow the coordinates Sonja provides otherwise you will get lost. This is not something that can be put into GPS. There is a ton to do near the area such as hiking, seeing Holland caves, going to see the waterfalls in Lauterbrunnen, going shopping in Interlaken, a castle to tour about an hour away etc. You are within 2-3 hours of all major cities in case you do want to travel throughout all of Switzerland. Thank you so much Sonja for making this a rememberable honeymoon. I can honestly say we loved ever minute of our time and miss Switzerland already! :-)

Amazing high quality flat in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable
We went with our teenage boys for 4 nights in April. The weather held out for us, sunny every day, and we had plenty to do in Beatenberg including hiking, mountain biking (recommend renting at Eiger Sport in town), riding the funicular down to the Thunersee and exploring the St. Beatus Caves. We also loved going into beautiful Interlaken for long walks and some great restaurant choices. The apartment is really very good quality. The kitchen had great appliances and we loved the espresso machine. The primary bathroom was especially nice with the rain shower and big soaking tub. The patio is huge, great for having meals with a million dollar view. The owner was very nice and helpful. It would be helpful to travelers to practice your German, but even if you don't Speak German, as in our case, you are able to communicate with out too much trouble. I would highly recommend this flat to anyone who wants to enjoy the natural beauty of Switzerland.

This home provides all you need for a relaxing time in the mountains of Switzerland. Take daily walks with cows, donkeys and goats in the fields grazing the greenest grass you will ever see. The views are spectacular in every direction. Friendly neighbors too!

Comfortable, cozy apartment with spectacular views
We're so glad we rented this apartment as our home base for exploring the Swiss Interlaken area. It was great to come home to after a long day of sightseeing. The views from the main living area windows and the terrace are spectacular. We enjoyed just sitting there with a glass of wine watching the clouds drift by over the glacier blue mountain lake surrounded by the beautiful Swiss mountains. The apartment was really clean and cozy. Sonja has thought of everything. Sonja met us at the apartment when we arrived and did a walk through with us. We ended up following her instructions to the apartment rather than relying on our GPS and that worked out fine. I didn't realize she had a notebook with English instructions for the appliances. From reading an earlier review, it appears that she does, so make sure and ask where it is if you plan on using the kitchen. We eventually figured it out and enjoyed cooking 2 or 3 dinners there. The TV service in the apartment was great. There was a bigger variety of English channels than we usually find when we stay in Europe using Home Away. One of the days we were there was really rainy so it was nice to just enjoy a down day at the apartment and have something besides the news to watch. The Chilche Pintli and Gloria Hotel restaurants in town were both good. We used the Coop grocery store in Interlaken for stocking up initially, and then used the little Beatenberg market on the main road about a mile from the apartment for incidentals after that. Sonja included a travel pass that allowed us some discounts for some of the sights we visited. Also came in handy with a discount for the bus when we didn't want to drive in to Interlaken. We've used Homeaway extensively over the last 8 years or so for our traveling in Europe. I would rank this apartment in my top 5 or 6 favorites. Will definitely be back if we're able to visit Switzerland again.

Awesome Chalet Matte Bluemli
Sonja's Chalet was a 5 Star (plus) accommodation. Fully equipped, modern and beautifully decorated. The view was spectacular from a spacious deck looking at Europe's 3 largest snow covered mountains and the two lakes of Thunersee & Brienzersee.. Sonja provided valuable information for things to do and a Visitor Pass for public transport which made our stay eventful.

Beautiful home, amazing view, and completely peaceful!
We have rented this property twice in the past 3 years. It's amazingly quiet, about 30 minutes away from the hustle of Interlaken. The home is located high up on the mountain with views across the Thunersee to the alps beyond. There is a good bit of outdoor furniture so that you can relax outside and enjoy the views. Just down the street from the house you can find cows with the traditional bells on their necks, and even an alpaca or two. The kitchen is fully furnished with Miele appliances, even with a built-in coffee machine and steamer. There's a large eating table big enough for 6-8 people. There's plenty of nice dishes and glasses. The living room has an LCD TV, maybe 40-45" with local cable channels. There is decent wifi, usually about 3-4MB/sec. The bedrooms are nice, the master has a large bed, dresser, and en-suite bathroom with a shower and jacuzzi tub. There's a one-way window where you can sit in the tub and watch the alps. The second bedroom is a little smaller, also with an en-suite shower. It has one big bed and one small bed for a child. The overall location is great in my opinion. There are several restaurants within walking distance, plus a bus stop which will take you to Interlaken. It was a bit warm when we went, and the plus side to this home is that when it was 85 degrees F in Interlaken, it would be 75 degrees F at the house. All in all we love the house and the owner is very nice and accommodating, and wants you to have an amazing time on your holiday.

Stunning views, beautiful home! Loved it!
This is a beautiful home and it fit our needs perfectly. The views from every window left us breathless. The kitchen was a chefs dream with a built in Expresso, cappuccino and coffee maker and everything ​you needed to prepare a gourmet meal. Bedrooms were spacious and the master bathroom had a huge whirlpool tub as well as a walk in shower. With the rental came a bus pass that could be used to go into Interlaken for free. We followed the owner's suggestion and input the GPS coordinates into our Navi rather than the address and it brought us directly to the home. We loved this place!

Spectacular views and comfortable apartment
We really enjoyed our week-long stay at this beautiful chalet. We were two couples from the U.S. traveling together. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. Very modern and clean. Nice bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Even a washer/dryer. Everything we needed was provided. The views from the living area and patio were nothing less than spectacular. The apartment was difficult to find, and the fact we arrived late in the evening didn't help. Be advised that the address does not register correctly in the gps, whether a car's gps or on a cell phone. You are best advised to put the actual coordinates in your gps and/or to look at a map. Once we found the place, though, all was forgiven because this was truly a gem of an apartment. We did not mind the 15 minute drive in to Interlaken because the views on the drive were stunning. We would gladly stay there again.

Overall we had a wonderful experience. The views are beyond amazing! We never met Sonja because we arrived so late, but she responded to all of my questions within a few hours. The home was clean and well maintained. There was a folder with english instructions for all appliances except the washer and dryer. It took us a little bit of time to translate the german instructions into english and figure out how to operate them. (Take your own laundry soap.) Even after translating the instruction manual we still had to figure out how to turn on the water and electricity to the machines. It would be very helpful if there were step by step instructions in english next to the washer and dryer since they are so different from what we use in the U.S. Each bedroom has it's own interior bathroom which is very nice. The master bathroom has a window to the living area which can make it a little awkward to shower if you share the home with friends. There is a curtain you can close, but it doesn't totally cover the window. The checkout instructions are all in german so we had to use Google translate to know what to do. It was a little tricky to find so I'd suggest not arriving too late. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful view beyond compare with modern interior and plenty of room
It took a little doing to find this Chalet. Made several wrong turns, but finally made it and found the place to be very nice with an unbelievable view of the lake and mountains. We found it hard to operate some of the appliances, as they were quite different then the ones in the US. Owner wasn't around for a few days so we were on our own to figure it out. Sometimes had to call for instructions and there was a little language barrier. Hot Tub is actually a soaker tub in the Master Bedroom. Beds were comfortable and rooms were a good size. Roads getting in were a bit hazardous and narrow. Chalet was well stocked, except no condiments. Overall a good experience.

Beautiful chalet and view of mountains. Very comfortable and spacious for my daughter and I.
We had car trouble so arrived late and missed Sophia, unfortunately. Arriving late made it difficult to find chalet, but we did find it with the help of kind locals. We never could figure out how to use locks for front door or how to access washer and drier, so this was a mild frustration and communication was somewhat challenging due to our lack of German language skills and Sophia's somewhat limited English, also her lack of response to our concerns re door lock via email. We finally reached her by phone after an unsuccessful communication with her daughter re washer but could not locate key to access washer in basement area, separate from main residence. We did feel safe in the area and just propped chair against door knob for some security. These frustrations were compensated greatly by the beauty of the area and the actual chalet. The chalet was in a gorgeous location in a totally quiet area with an amazing view of mountains. The chalet was extremely comfortable and well thought out with every kitchen appliance imaginable and excellent dish, cook, silver and glass ware. We easily made tea nightly and cooked eggs for breakfast. The beds were comfortable, showers and jacuzzi excellent. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 were some of the communication difficulties and challenge finding chalet, but may have gone more smoothly had we met Sophia and arrived in day light. Do recommend this chalet. May help if Sophia provides a map of sorts and definitely recommend arriving early. And recommend improvement in communication. Overall great experience and loved beautiful Beatenberg, Interlaaken and Swiss alps. Enjoyed several hikes and many delicious dinners at local Hotel Gloria, which we highly recommend for their superb food, amazing mountain views and unbeatable service. Also had fun shopping and walking around Interlaaken and hiking around and near the lake. Helps to stop by visitor center in Beatenberg for trail maps. Car helps but local buses to Interlaaken are frequent.

A Wonderful Place to Stay
It is on the side of the mountain facing many other mountains. The lake is beautiful. It is just the place we wanted to stay forever. Peaceful. Cow bells. Cool at night and warm in the day. Just excellent. The property is well maintained. It was near Interlaken, 10 minutes.

Liebe Sonja, vielen Dank, das wir in deinem Haus diese wunderschöne Wohnung anmieten durften. Die Wohnung ist sehr großzügig geschnitten und auch mit vielerlei Kücheninventar ausgestattet. Das Frühstück haben wir auf der großen Terrasse genossen, mit dem Blick auf Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau , sowie den Thuner See. Bedanken möchten wir uns, daß wir bei der Anreise eine Std. früher in die Wohnung kommen durften und viel an Auskunft über Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, Gastronomie und sehenswertes von Sonja erhalten haben. Heel mooi appartement met prachtig uitzicht. Ideaal voor verblijf van 2 koppels aangezien elke slaapkamer een eigen badkamer heeft ( waarbij 1 slaapkamer een heerlijke whirlpool heeft) . Appartement is luxe uitgevoerd, heeft mooi terras met eettafel, Lounge bank en ligbedden. Ligt heerlijk rustig aan doodlopend weggetje. Eigenaresse is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Wir haben tolle Tage in einer super Ferienwohnung geniessen können. Es hat an nichts gefehlt und der Ausblick und die Lage des Objekts waren ein Traum. Nahe an der Busstation und sehr ruhig. Die grosse Terasse lädt zum Verweilen ein. Die Wohnung ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und es hat alles was man braucht (Küchenutensilien, Handseife etc.) Die Better sind bequem und man hat schon beim Aufstehen eine tolle Aussicht auf die Berge und den See. Frau Schallenberg war sehr zuvorkommend und es hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Vielen Dank für die tollen Tage in Ihrer Wohnung.

Tout c est déroulé à la perfection, le logement est très bien équipé 5 étoiles avec une vue magnifique sur les montagnes et le lac. Très propre très confortable et Sonja est très disponible et aimable. Un sans faute !

Hervorragende Ferienwohnung
Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung ist super gut und hochwertig eingerichtet. Das Wetter war Mitte September sehr gut. Wir konnten immer draußen essen und am späten Nachmittag noch die Sonne genießen. Die Vermieterin stand uns immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Die Ferienwohnung hat eine außergewöhnlich faszinierende Lage oberhalb des Thuner Sees. Die Vermieterin kümmert sich liebevoll und vorzüglich freundlich um ihre Gäste. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und verfügt über alles an Ausstattung, was "das Herz begehrt".

5 Sterne - in der Tat!
Es bedarf keiner weiteren Bewertung dieser Unterkunft. Das Meiste, was an Positivem zu sagen ist, wurde bereits gesagt! Und wir können nur zustimmen! Wir haben selten (oder nie?) in einer so perfekt ausgestatteten Ferienwohnung gelebt. Wir haben noch nie in einer Ferienwohnung eine so umfangreiche Grundausstattung im Sanitärbereich (hatte Hotelstandard) und in der Küche vorgefunden. Für uns war eine positive Besonderheit der Weinkühlschrank. Gäste, die neu in der Region sind, finden eine umfangreiche Prospektsammlung über Attraktionen der Region vor. Die nächste Bushaltestelle ist nach einem relativ steilen Anstieg in etwa 7 -10 Minuten (je nach Kondition) zu erreichen. Das herrliche Panorama und der Blick auf Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau und Blümlisalp wurde ausreichend beschrieben und ist absolut faszinierend, wenn die Abendsonne die auch im Sommer schneebedeckten Berge in zartes Rosa taucht. Auf den Bildern kann man sehr gut sehen, dass sich über der, den Gästen über die ganze Hausbreite zur Verfügung stehenden, Terrasse zwei Balkone befinden. Sie gehören zu zwei Ferienwohnungen, die wohl ausschließlich durch die Besitzer genutzt werden. Während unserer dreiwöchigen Ferien war die linke Wohnung für eine Woche genutzt. Von einer Familie mit zwei kleinen, wohl sehr gut erzogenen Kindern. Wir erlebten diese Familie als sehr rücksichtsvoll. In der rechten Wohnung waren die Besitzer nur drei Tage anwesend, auch hier war der kurze Eindruck positiv. Obwohl ringsum Ferienwohnungen vermietet werden: beim abendlichen Aufenthalt auf der Terrasse war die uns umgebende Ruhe beeindruckend und erstaunlich. Die Vermieterin, Frau Schallenberg, wohnt nicht im gleichen Ort. Trotzdem steht sie ihren Gästen immer zur Verfügung. Kurz nach dem Einzug hatten wir ein (unwesentliches) Beleuchtungsproblem im Flur. Wir baten per Mail, dieses bis zum Wochenende zu beseitigen, da dann unsere Enkel anreisten. Am gleichen Abend stand Frau Schallenberg vor der Tür. Es wurde Licht! Am letzten Tag war der Wasserboiler defekt. Eine halbe Stunde (!) nach unserem Anruf bei Frau Schallenberg stand ein Elektriker vor der Tür und der Schaden war innerhalb kurzer Zeit behoben (deutsche Handwerker, nehmt Euch ein Beispiel!) Fest steht: Frau Schallenberg liegt das Wohlbefinden ihrer Feriengäste am Herzen. Danke dafür!

Wunderschöner Urlaub
Wir haben in der Wohnung eine tolle Woche verbracht, die fantastisch ausgestattet ist. Sehr sauber und modern, Frau Schallenberg war immer hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Für uns als Familie mit einem behinderten Sohn im Rollstuhl (15 Jahre alt) war diese Wohnung ein absoluter Glückstreffer, da wir mit den Gegebenheiten gut zurecht gekommen sind, gemessen an unseren Anforderungen. Danke Frau Schallenberg, wir kommen gerne erneut nach Beatenberg.

Abwechslungsreiche Woche
Wir haben eine tolle Wohnung vorgefunden. Vor allem die Terrasse mit dem Grill konnten wir bei schönem Wetter genießen. Die Wohnung ist groß, komfortabel ausgestattet und dank des Whirlpools konnten wir uns nach zwei sehr nassen Wanderungen wieder aufwärmen.

Fantastisch appartement
Het appartement is gelegen op ca. 1200 m met een fantastisch uitzicht vanuit het appartement op de bergen van het jungfrau hoch en de Thunersee. Het appartement is ruim en voorzien van alle gemakken. Het is schoon en in zeer goede staat. Zeer ruim en mooi buitenterras met uitzicht over de bergen en de Thunersee. Zeker een aanrader.

Schallenberg

Wunderschön eingerichtete Wohnung, es fehlt an nichts.
Die bezaubernd schöne Aussicht auf den tiefblauen Thunersee und die rundum tollen Berge , wie Eiger,Mönch und Jungfrau. Wir können das Chalet Matte Blüemli in Beatenberg nur weiter empfehlen. Wir kommen wieder.
