Casa da Laxa is located in beautiful land of Terra de Montes on the border between provinces of Ourense and Pontevedra. It was built in traditional Galician manner in 1875 on a granit rock in the veil of Marcofán mountain. Peace and natural beauty of the Castro river's bank makes this stunning cottage a perfect getaway destination.

The ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen, living room with TV, fireplace and toilet. It has covered outdoor BBQ and picnic area in a large garden on the banks of the river. Wi-Fi and parking. There is a pool of river water, part of the river, 500 meters from the house

We saw a wild boar

Casa da Laxa was exactly what we were hoping for and more. The location is so tranquil tucked into a hill on the edge of temperate rainforest. Checking in was very smooth and the house very spacious and equipped with everything you might need. We headed out to visit castros, petroglyphs and hot springs but also spent plenty of time wending our way through the forest and the largely abandoned village, visiting the local river pool and sitting outside the local bar. The perfect getaway.

Traumhaus in Galicien

Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und gaben sich größte Mühe sich mit uns (Deutsche) zu verständigen - Google Übersetzter sei dank :-) Das Ferienhaus ist traumhaft schön. Es liegt sehr ruhig am Waldrand, ein kleiner Bach fließt vorbei, wo die Kinder super auf Steinen rumklettern konnten. Zum Erholen einfach perfekt. Der einzige kleine Nachteil ist, dass wir trotz zentraler Lage meist recht lange fahren mussten, um verschiedene Ecken Galiciens zu erkunden. Hier haben wir im Vorfeld die Fahrzeiten einfach unterschätzt. Das Ferienhaus würden wir aber jederzeit wieder auswählen. Vielen Dank an Pilar und Bernardo, zwei wirklich liebevolle Menschen, die uns immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite standen.

Somos una familia de Gran Canaria. Llevamos varios años alojándonos en casas rurales en nuestras vacaciones, y ésta para nosotros ha sido la mejor hasta la fecha. Una casa con encanto, muy bien equipada y en una ubicación inmejorable, con bosque y riachuelo al lado de la casa. Pilar ha sido una fantástica anfitriona, atenta y amable. Riverside rustic country house

Located in a small hamlet , this lovely house was just what we needed after a busy city break in Santiago de Compostella. The surrounding scenery is simply stunning - probably the greenest area in all of Spain! We were thrilled to see how private the house was , complete with gardens and a footbridge over our own stream in the forest. The house itself is of solid granite with exposed beams and stone walls inside and out and is very Alpine in design. Everything you would need is there : most of the furniture is in modern pine , living room with open fireplace, dining room, a well equiped traditional style oak kitchen, three bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms and comfortable beds. Outside is a large outdoor barbeque and dining area. Simple but well maintained and clean.

Beautiful house in the mountains

We had a great time in Casa da Laxa. We were two couples that wanted to enjoy the Galician mountains and nature. This was perfect in the house that was beautifully located in a quiet village. The area is perfect for hiking, cycling, swimming in the river, enjoying the beautiful nature or just relax. If you are looking for such an experience you will definitely enjoy this place

Relax y desconexión en un apartado rincón de Galícia que parece sacado de un cuento de hadas

Sencillamente espectacular! inmejorable... empezando por la ubicación, en una pequeña aldea, sin apenas gente, al pie de un río cuyo sonido se oye desde la casa, hasta la propia casa, con todo lo necesario para pasar una semana sin preocuparse de nada (barbacoa incluida). A destacar la amabilidad de Pilar, la anfitriona, que ha estado en todo momento pendiente de que nuestra estancia fuera perfecta. Si volvemos por la zona, seguro que repetimos!

Perfect for connecting with family and nature

The home is in immaculate condition! Its cleanliness was beyond what I was expecting given the home is made of stone and set amongst trees and a flowing river. The river was a perfect place for my children (7 & 9 years old) to frolic in and jump from rock to rock while my husband and I sat on the lovely porch looking on from above. The layout of the home allowed for people to play table games, read, cook and take a nap all at the same time and without disturbing one another. The owners were generous with their time in the explanation of the home and locations nearby to visit. They also helped carry our belongings from the car to the home because the streets were too narrow for my SUV requiring me to park up the road from the house (very short distance). I hope to revisit the home in the future and stay for a longer period of time. It's located in a lovely village with beautiful scenery and landscape.

We, 4 Adults from Germany, spent 12 restorative days in the charming and peaceful holiday home Casa Da Laxa, Magros, Beariz. It was not only the recreative center from where we started visits in an interesting part from Spain and Europe. The very friendly hosts Marta, Pilar and Bernardo did everything they could do to make our holidays so comfortable but also delivered us insight into historical and cultural aspects of their home country. They were so cordially, that made our holidays very unique. The house was well equipped and tastefully arranged. Thanks a lot!!!

Una de las mejores casas rurales que hemos estado, y hemos estado en varias. La casa impecable con todos los servicios cubiertos de sobra. Intalaciones limpias y muy bien cuidadas. En el exterior jardin con barbacoa y un río de ensueño así como los alrededores. Está relativamente cerca de las principales ciudades de Galicia, Ourense, Santiago, Pontevedra... Mención especial a Marta y Pilar, por su trato y hacernos aun más agradable la estancia. Repetiremos.

Great time at Casa de Laxa!

We stayed in the house in the end of August. Although some time has gone, it is kind to remember the time which we spent at Casa de Laxa. Perfect, quiet, calm place, suitable for deep sleep:) The rushing stream and mornings in the clouds - the memories which remains for a long time! We would recommend this place for those who wants to rest from the fast pace of life and noise of cities and wants to mingle with a nature, enjoy the time with family or friends.
