"This is the second time we've stayed at Heron's Nest. We loved it as much this time as last. This house is very clean and beautifully appointed. If you are into a bit of retro tech, there is a fantastic Hi-Fi stereo in the living area. Local radio is good. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and has a lot of space in which to work. All of the sleeping areas are well appointed and very comfortable. You are close enough to very easily walk to the beach from this house, but if you would rather just sit and enjoy the view from the house, you can do that from the beautiful porch. "

"We had the absolute best week of vacation at this beautiful home! This house/location had everything we wanted, a heated pool, wrap around porch, and a short 1-2 min walk to the beach! Our week was spent relaxing in peaceful tranquility! Our host was very accommodating and accessible during our stay! We also enjoyed going out to several restaurants close by that had the friendliest staff and delicious food and drinks! We are already planning on a return trip to this magnificent home and town! "

"Home is almost as beautiful as the view. The veranda offered breathtaking views of the gulf. Bonus extra was the bunk room with 6 bunks, perfect for kiddos. This room is in addition to the 5 bedrooms. Everything was very clean and in perfect order for our visit. Pool- It is directly under 2 gorgeous, huge oak trees and sadly full of leaves etc on bottom and top of pool. We were unable to get the bottom clean so sadly couldnt use the pool until Friday as the pool clearner came Thursday night. This was a huge disappointment as one of the reasons we booked. There also isn't a heater. Listing had indicated there was a hot tub. I failed to confirm this prior to booking, there isn't a hot tub, just in case vrbo listing still shows.Home is listed for sale. This was not know, nor was it known to expect a showing during our visit. We found this intruding. We had an unclear message from a realtor a day prior. We had been inquiring on a different property for sale and thought the message was for an open house on that. We were very surprised by the showing and felt it to be unprofessional . Owner should ensure to notify future renters that this is a possibility. We had no idea it was a possibility to expect showings when we've rented. The host seems very nice and was responsive in other communications. She very kindly allowed us access earlier on check in day which was appreciated. "

"It is a great location on the beach. The images are slightly deceptive, as while you can see the beach and gulf from your windows you are slightly setback in the building. The building location is good for venturing from New Orleans all the way to Pensacola. There was no binder with reminder of codes or providing a to do list for the unit or fun things to do or see or eat at locally and that would have been nice. The sunset views are amazing and if you get to the beach for sunrise those pretty spectacular too. Maybe a higher quality toilet paper and paper towel would be nice. Also a map to both the exercise room and office would have been nice. It was unfortunately unseasonable cold when we were there and did not het to use the pool at all and the beach time was limited to one nice day of weather. The unit was overall covered for supplies. "
