There was no food option in the hotel after breakfast. If they have staffing issues having a list of suggsted restaurants nearby would have been nice. Nope, not the case. They don’t clean the rooms every day unless you ask (there is a note in the room about this); this doesn’t make sense now after covid! The bathroom has one soap for all purposes (hand, body, hair) and no lotion. No iron or ironing board. The staff were sweet enough to call me taxis both times I asked. Room was clean and working AC wall unit, and clean towels.

Very nice staff. Friendly and professional. Going above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Very helpful with helping me organize my trips to the Bayreuth festival as well to the museums. Nice breakfast and snacks. Nice cocktail atmosphere before the opera. They run the place very well. I wish they have a restaurant for lunch & dinner.

Hotel Rheingold was a very nice, clean and safe local hotel. It was easy walking distance from the train station (19 minutes) and just across the main road to Old Town Bayreuth. We walked to the Festspielhaus and only took about 20 minutes. We were in Bayreuth to see all the Richard Wagner history. This hotel was a perfect hotel for easy navigation and close walks to all the museums and attractions. It is also a 5 minute walk from the Maisel's Bier-Erlebniswelt...Great local beer!! We certainly recommend this hotel.

Perfect hotel for our stay in Bayreuth. Check-in was a breeze. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The desk and dining staff were friendly and helpful. Speaking of dining staff, the hotel's breakfast was dynamite! Hotel's location was perfectly situated and in walking distance to everything. I will certainly stay here again.

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Excellent air conditioning with easily adjustable temperature and virtually no noise. Good breakfast. A safe in the room and a minibar for cooling one's own water would have made it even better. Good location just outside Ring Road, about 300 yards from pedestrianised town centre.

Stayed for a few days during the festival time. The hotel manages this exceptionally well. It operates a charming service that provides champagne and canapés before the opera, then shuttles you to and from the performance. It offers an excellent post-theatre dinner served by charming staff. Highly recommended.

Everyone was helpful and courteous. Bright, comfortable, spotlessly clean room and everything worked. Restaurant stayed open late for festival visitors and the bar appeared to serve well after midnight.

Very good, well organised hotel that clearly has been catering for Festival goers for many years. Their Festival shuttle bus service was invaluable. One comment. Coffee and Tea making facilities in the room would be appreciated.

We booked for two nights, during Bűrgerfest in Bayreuth. Beds very comfortable room clean and quite. Its located in the center of the city, mall is walking distance. We had free parking, since we had a rental car, that was a plus.

Stay for opera at Festspielhaus
35 degrees outside and no air conditioning in first room I was given. I thought I was going to pass out. Luckily I was moved to another room. I don't know how anyone could have stayed in previous one. Breakfast was very good. Staff at reception and at breakfast very helpful. Bus transfers to/from Festspielhaus for EUR5 per person. The first day we departed in a black coach which was comfortable and cool. We returned in a yellow coach which was hot and uncomfortable. The second day we departed in a yellow coach, the driver refused to put on air conditioning until we departed. It was 35 degrees outside and same (if not hotter) on bus. We were all dressed in our fine clothes for the opera. The bus did not at all cool down. Around a dozen people got off bus before we arrived and walked as it was so uncomfortable. The rest of us arrived hot, sweaty and not happy. The same that evening for the return. The drivers could not have cared less. The Festspielhaus is famous for not having air conditioning and it was hot in there. To not have air conditioned transport to/from there is unforgivable. I don't remember the name of the bus company but if you see a yellow one and its hot get a taxi instead!

We had a great stay at the Hotel Rhinegold
We really enjoyed the Hotel Rhinegold. They did a great job. It was very hot in Bayreuth and only part of the rooms have air conditioning - so be sure to ask for a rook with A/C.

We can really recommend this hotel generally and specifically if you are lucky enough to have tickets for the annual Bayreuth Festival. The hotel is friendly and clean and runs an excellent shuttle bus service to the Festival. It is also good value!

This hotel looks after their clientele one hundred percent. From the piano playing as we arrived downstairs to have a quick sparkling before boarding the bus to the Festpielhaus to the supreme breakfast the next morning. Every aspect was perfect. The staff showed every enthusiasm in our stay. Our rooms were very comfortable. It was easy to acces the town which is very sophisticated and catering to a constantly changing range of tourists. We loved the nearby cemetery, walking up the hill and wallowing in the gardens of the Festpielhaus and along the main greet to Richard Wagner Strasse where Wahnfried and the grave site and adjoining park are situated. A lovely relaxing holiday here in Bayreuth. And of course the opera. Superb!!

Efficient and convenient hotel
An efficient hotel with helpful and professional staff. We had a quiet, comfortable room, which could have been slightly improved by providing two pillows, rather than one per bed. Like most guests, we were there for the Wagner festival, and the hotel provides a bus to and from the festspielhaus at a modest cost. The hotel is very expensive, but that would be true of anywhere in Bayreuth during the festival. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of choice available.
