Guests who choose historic hotels have a chance to stay in a building officially recognised with a national historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as castles, stately homes, palaces or even pubs, lodges, old police stations or skyscrapers — as long as it's of special interest. These types of hotels in Batumi often preserve original characteristics like traditional architecture and period features in their public spaces or guestrooms.

The two are similar. The term “historic hotel” is more common in the U.S., while you'll often hear "heritage hotel" in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to emphasise the physical building and architecture. A heritage hotel draws meaning mainly from the cultural value that the place has and how it inspired the surrounding community.

Hotel interiors feature the modern conveniences and safety features you might expect, though efforts have been made to preserve historic facades and treasured traditions. Private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning, free and fast Internet, and the popular amenities found at a contemporary hotel should be available at a historic hotel. When you choose a historic hotel in Batumi, don't worry that you'll be staying at a place that's uncomfortable for guests or simply rundown.
