The best area to stay in Batomalj is the central village area, particularly around the Church of St. Jelena.

This area is the heart of Batomalj. It's a compact village with traditional stone houses and narrow streets, offering a quiet, authentic experience. The Church of St. Jelena is a prominent landmark, and nearby you'll find the local amenities like the village shop and a few eateries. It's a great base for exploring the local culture and enjoying a peaceful holiday.

Families often find this central village area appealing due to its tranquil setting and proximity to the local beach, which is a short drive or an easy walk away. The lack of heavy traffic makes it a relaxed environment for children, and the open spaces around the village provide room for them to play.

Couples looking for a romantic and secluded retreat will also appreciate the central village area.

The best time to go to Batomalj is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, and September.

These months offer pleasant weather for exploring, with warm temperatures and less intense heat than the peak summer months. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the natural beauty of the island is at its most appealing, with lush greenery. It's also a great time to enjoy outdoor activities like cycling or walking the marked trails without the summer crowds.

For those looking for a relaxing beach holiday with fewer people, May and September are ideal. You can enjoy the pebble beaches and clear waters of nearby Baška and Stara Baška in relative peace. Many local restaurants and shops are open, but the atmosphere is more laid-back.

If you're keen on a more lively experience with all amenities fully operational, June is an excellent choice. The weather is consistently warm, and all excursions and water sports are readily available.
