"We stay in vacation rentals often and even own a rental property ourselves, so we try to be understanding and realistic when traveling. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing VRBO experiences we’ve had.The positives were the convenient location and comfortable beds. However, the property appeared poorly maintained with overgrown grass and several issues affected both comfort and safety. Upon arrival, the house was extremely hot, there were ants throughout the kitchen and dining area, a lizard inside the home, and later we heard what sounded like rodents in the downstairs walls. The dining room AC unit was dirty, leaking brown residue onto the floor, and there was mold on the downstairs bathroom ceiling.There were also multiple maintenance concerns: a cracked stovetop taped at the corner, non-functioning garbage disposal (which my husband fixed), TV issues, a carbon monoxide detector hanging loosely with tape, and unstable rickety furniture including bunk beds and bar stools.A few smaller improvements that would help future guests include basic supplies/amenities such as zip-top bags and a cooler. Not setting a formal dining table with all the plates and utensils, they just end up getting dusty and in our case…covered in ants.Lastly, the listing advertised a fireplace and fire pit, but both were marked “do not use.”Overall, the property needs significant maintenance and attention to detail before we could recommend it to future guests."
