A great stay!

The family suite with balcony was amazing! Shame we only stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast was good - decent variety and quality too. Highly recommend.

Good hotel with great links to town

Weather you want to walk 25 minutes to town centre or take the tram it’s great, room pleasant comfy clean room had window open on a hot day so it wasn’t stuffy when I got in and provided fan, Many thanks 🙂

There was no air conditioning so we had to have the window open and contend with the noise of the traffic outside. The double bed was against a wall so you either had to climb over the other person or crawl down the bed to get out. There was no bar or sitting area. The room, albeit small, was clean. There was a coffee machine in the room which is ok but a kettle would have been better as my wife can’t drink coffee.

We liked our stay in Alfa hotel. A very sweet lady at the reception - much appreciated! The room was in good condition, nothing special but exactly like described on the website. We got free tickets for public transport, which came in handy to visit Basel. The tram stop is also in front of the hotel. Only negative point was that there were not enough parking spots.

Great spot for stadium and city access

I regret that I did not have a chance to try out the restaurant, and the in-room capsule coffeemaker was not a success, but the internet connection was good, the room was quiet, and the hotel itself was in an excellent location, especially for St. Jakob Stadium. Check-in and check out were very quick, and I paid extra for a balcony, which was well worth the money. It was a great place to relax and have some coffee, and the nice accordion glass doors and windows sealed out the noise at night. Nearby grocery stores, cafes, a bakery, a handy mini-mart, and easy access to trams downtown. I walked to the stadium in 20 minutes along the little river. I travel with a dog, and we were glad there was a lift in the building. There is a fee of 15 CHF per night for a dog, which I think is a bit steep, but I understand that we are all paying for all the dogs that may or may not be well behaved in hotels.

A decent hotel for short stays

For the first time we have been in Basel and we were looking for a one night hotel with my family, Alfa Hotel is among the best for that purpose because it is more economic than other hotels, so you can choose if your goal is that one; on the other hand the service is not proportionate with the price (it is not only for this hotel, it is generally in Switzerland), also the breakfast was 19€ per person which is really expensive be careful (again it is not only for this hotel, it is general in Switzerland); the hotel is not close to the centre by walking but they are giving public transport chances which I havent seen for other cities-hotels thanks for this kind thought, for cleaning and comfort point of view there were no problems everything was fine for one night stay, thanks for your hospitality

No aircon, we were so hot, had to open window which meant it was so noisy as its on the main road. Bed was way too soft. Staff really lovely and helpful. Really great to be right next to the tram stop for easy of travel

It is conveniently located. The room was clean, neat, and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. The price was excellent. I would have preferred a little more variety in the breakfast offerings, which were satisfactory. Also, the towels were not of good quality. For the price, it was an excellent choice, and I would go there again.

The hotel is a little tired. The pillow for the bed was awful to cool the room you have to open the window which was ok but the street noise from vehicles was bad. Hardly slept. Shows is tiny and towels were thread warn. Room size was ok typical European hotel
