Staff helpful but need more training in the ethics of hospitality. I found the music played throughout the resort, morning and evening, extremely loud making it difficult to converse with others. Overall, my stay was pleasant and enjoyable!

I don’t recommend nobody to visit this location. The place is in serious needs of some upgrading. They one provide one towel and one rag per guest, the beds are breaking down, about 5 channels on the television you can watch. The only thing that works really well in the room was the AC and the fridge. Customer service is a joke, you have to wait two or more hours for food you ordered, when you get the food it’s cold. You have a better chance getting drunk at the bar before you can fill your belly with food. The staff avoids you as if your not even sitting there. When you complain to the higher ups , your complaints go unanswered. When you down so much money to enjoy yourself and you get is a big disappointment. Try a different resort this one is not worth the time or money.

Location was beautiful but service left much to be desired. I booked hotel on Expedia and pre paid for said room only to be told on arrival that she had sent me a an email that had gone to my spam folder that said room actually wasn't available. The fact that our entire stay was based on the notion that we would be at aruwai we were forced to pay the difference for a room more than double the price which was purportedly the only room available. The next day after calling for the complimentary breakfast to be sent to my room, I'm left waiting close to an hour before I call the kitchen again only to be told that they was a problem procuring eggs for the resort hence the delay?! I had to leave the room so I left a note on the door for the food to be left in the room when I return , lo and behold I return an hour after and of course breakfast never reached. Dining overall was poor. Despite preordering hours before hand food wasn't available on time. The portions rather small, not very flavourful and extremely overpriced. Beautiful property but the services and food is trash! Stay away from this place management don’t care at all. I feel extremely terrible for the staff that has to face the backlash from the customers.

My hotel room smelled. The food took an hour to get and chicken was uncooked. The staff was great! Place was definitely under staff. Bartender was also the cook amongst many other things. Nothing like my first experience. So until things change i wouldn't recommend going.

Our stay was fantastic! The service is great and we couldnt ask for better. They went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. I highly recommend this resort. We will definitely go again on our next visit to Guyana

I wouldn't encourage anyone to stay here more than one night. There was only 6 of us the first night, service was ok but second night was worse. Menu options were consistently unavailable. Service for food and drinks were poor, and took a long time to receive, especially food. Food was not good aside from Chicken Piccata and the fish. Pizza was terribly made. The staff serving looked unpleasant and or acted like they could not understand and several gaps with communication. I was also charged for someone else's drinks and had to plead to have it removed off my bill. 10pm everything is off, no music or activities and the Wifi is very very bad and unstable. The gift shop is closed as well, with no options to get any food or drink. Dialing the office or security desk there was no answer; therefore now becomes a security risk as in if you needed an emergency the resort literally turns into a ghost town with no staff for assistance. You are literally on an island with no access to anything. Raymond and Vikram are helpful but can only do so much. Do not spend your money on the Bartica tour either. This could become so much better, but in the meantime it is definitely not a resort nor should not be referred to as such.

I liked is that it was a private island and we were the only guests there During the week. The property itself is nice but aging, they have animals running around freely like bunnies, a monkey, macaw etc However the pool was cordoned off and partially drained so only swimming you can do is in the river itself. At 10am in the morning they take you across to the falls for 1hr and that was basically the only highlight. The Jetskis are not available, the paddle boats and kayaks you can't use because you have to wait for optimal tide and current that basically never came to be as I kept asking through the days there....The game room has table tennis, basketball hoop games and a pool table that's not up kept, felt on table is worn-out and pool ques have to tips on them. Stayed in superior room which was a good choice,hot water I don't know if it works, ac works great, cable TV is direct TV.,internet reception very spotty. Food was good but somewhat pricey e.g grilled cheese sandwich $1,500 gyd /$7.50 usd but it's a remote location so I guess that'll be why, staff was very friendly and helpful.

The property was beautiful, the rooms were amazing - the staff was attentive, professional and friendly - the pool was green - more chlorine was needed so did not go in the pool - also the small zoo located on the property had the animals living in very poor conditions - remove the zoo and with a blue pool this property would have been 100%.

The resort isn't a resort, it was very boring, all it has is a bar and a pool and few water sports. The resort basically winds down/turns into ghost town at 6pm and there is no entertainment for the guests after that time, not even music playing. There was no wifi access in my room on the third floor, so it was a nuisance to leave the room frequently in search of wifi. Additionally, we encountered some simple issues which the staff were very unwilling to rectify. It took half a day's worth of pleading and speaking to every employee on site about the discomfort before the situation could be resolved.

Worth every dollar!! Food and service was excellent and on point. Overall service was great in every way. Enjoyed our stay, relaxing, fun, entertaining wonderful. I highly recommend it for anyone, especially couples and honeymoon getaway.

For me the customer service was okay, the food was great, the problem was no night life after 10:00pm, transportation to get to Aruwai should be arranged for guest especially if you are not familiar with the country. Overall I had a good time .

The property was empty when we stayed. I do not know about anyone else but I LOVED that about the property. The wait staff was very attentive and the chef was divine! The only real traffic is during the day, they get a lot of "day travelers" but after they leave it is all about exploring the property. Great R & R in South America.

I loved the location, the hotel rooms, staff and service. I didn’t like the smell of mold at the entrance to the stairwell. I also didn’t like that there was no staff available for the water crafts. Also the resort should have their own boats transporting guests from Parika to the resort. We did not have a good experience using public boats. I hope that by my next visit that there are improvements made as suggested. Anything Guyanese I like to support.

My stay at the resort was very awesome. I would definitelyfo again. We got to eat fresh mangoes daily. The staff was helpful and friendly. However I thought they could have given something other than the toast and eggs complimentary breakfast we got every morning for the 4 mornings we spent there.

There was an awful smell to the bathroom. Activities not available as offered. The menu was limited even though you were told order what you like them you were told oh it’s not available even as others were ordering the same. The WiFi sucked. The waitress was rude and nasty. On check out had to pay cash because internet was down. Instead of saying that the office personnel kept saying something was wrong with the card. Which I know is not true.

We’re not told of the amenities avaiilable or the locating of any of the facilities. Waited for over an hour for a beach towel. Waited over 1/2 hour for food order that was never placed. No remote or phone in room. So you have to keep walking back and forth to office. Room was unfinished and smelled like wood stain. It was just horrible.

An Island Getaway
A beautiful tranquil private island where you can sit back and relax and be looked after by a very attentive staff. The room was very well appointed and we were lucky enough to get a delightful river view. the food was excellent and have to say I have never seen seen shrimps so large and would recommend the Shrimp Alfredo. All the meals were freshly made so be prepared to wait a little but it will be worthwhile. Getting there is not so easy and you need to be aware that you will have to take a taxi to the port at Parika from Georgetown which will cost around GY$5000/$25 each way. After this you need to take 2 water taxis, first is to Bartica about 75 mins(cost GY$2500/$12.50 per person) then one to Itabali which drops you off at the resort (cost GY$1500/$7.50). This is an adventure in itself I was lucky that as my Guyanese wife was around she could do the organising with locals but I would advise contacting Georgetown office for advice!
