If anything good, the staff and the area, that’s all!
Place was safe and walkable to the Hotel El Prado where my friends stayed.

Not a top hotel, but great value for money
The best of Barahona are their friendly staff. Claudia and Ivan in particular are very helpful and nice. Next is the good breakfast included with Colombian coffee, fresh fruit juice and even scrambled eggs.
On the negative side, you better be in good health condition to able to climb two or three floors to your room as there is no lift.
Overall, it's good value for money.

Good Stay for Carnaval
It was fine for Carnaval time. Expensive because of Carnaval but very little choice. The hotel is located at one of the busiest intersections in Barranquilla but convenient to attend Carnaval (kind of in the center of the city). Next door was a radio station blasting music to 10 p.m. and then the music continued to 3 a.m. but not as loud. (Not 100% sure if music came from the radio station) Don't know if that was because of Carnaval only. We requested a room change upon check in and they right away got us another room farther from the intersection, at a lower floor and one where wifi could reach. Still noisy but, again, maybe because the radio station was blasting music during Carnaval (?). The hotel has no hot water (no hot water plumbing) Not sure if Hotel.com mentions it ... so a little surprised. We could still take showers with naturally lukewarm water that comes out of the faucet so not a terrible problem. There is no elevator in the building either so second floor room is better and one toward the back to reduce the street noise.
All the employees were wonderful. Claudia helped us with information, restaurant reservation and transportation to Cartagena. Everybody was extremely friendly. They were obviously very busy because of Carnaval but they were very patient and helpful at all times.
es horrible me chequie y dejes mis pertenencias en la hab que me dieron y sali a comer solo me tarde 30 min y entraron en mis cuarto y se robaron mis pertencias de mucho valor, es compice el recepcionista y para colmo no me repondieron
The hotel is well located, but it is a very old property and is in need of repair.
There is no hot water ,in the lobby there is no air conditioning .if they are going to go for just one nigth that is fine, but not to stay for several days . The staff very friendly, polite and attentive
Review: shower has no hot water, no plastic liner so water floods the floors, not even a paper cup to take medications or rinse your mouth. The bed is like a rock but the boxspring like mush. Noisiest place in the city from street noise. 2 blocks from a loud festival. You wont sleep here. Furniture is old, ugly and beaten up. Breakfast was ok but small and not even cream for the coffee. No attention to details. Receptionist is very nice and professional. She gets the only star. Overall I would say zero stars for this place!!!

Economical option in a non-touristy urban area
The best part about this place was easily the staff--every single employee with whom I interacted was warm, kind, and extremely helpful. Yummy, simple breakfast included.
Price was also excellent, and the room was quite spacious.
Downsides: The had been tidied but it wasnt super clean. There was a fairly sizeable ball of hair and detritis on the floor that maybe wafted out from under the bed, and my feet got dirty if I walked on the floor with noshoes. Also, the room had great AC, but there was no blanket on the bed, only a thin top-sheet. Also, no hot water, but I think that's standard in a Colombian lower-budget hotel.
The kindness of the staff made up for that other stuff, though. Really nice people working there.
Pros: excellent location, large room, great price, very clean, included AC.
Cons: lukewarm water only in shower.
Also I got back to the hotel at midnight one night and the front door of the hotel was locked and I pressed the doorbell like 5 times and no one came to open the door for like 10 minutes. Eventually a taxi driver who knew the hotel staff saw me standing outside panicking and came over and banged on the door and finally someone came and opened the door for me.
Bien en general. Me sorprendió que el precio pagado por la reserva fuera incrementado en un 19% en el hotel y no se dijera algo en la reserva. El desayuno es muy calórico. Jugos dulces sin opción de presentar a elección sin azúcar
I had a nice stay at this hotel, the only thing to say about it is a couple of issues that i had with breakfast, if you get eggs you won't get fruit, this is not good for an hotel, hope they read this and solve this issue.
El hotel esta muy central, bien ubicado, me pareció muy cómodo. Lo único es que no hay variedad de alimentos, y en la zona no hay restaurantes cercanos para llegar. Por lo comentado hay que desplazarse a otros sectores.
