Beautiful location, stunning views
Great location and stunning views. One of the most beautiful and serene places we have ever stayed. We enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking near-by. House was very clean and kitchen well-stocked. Second bedroom is smaller so it was cozy for four but very comfortable. Owner offered extra nights at the end of our stay, which we were thrilled to accept. He also brought over some fresh lobster which we enjoyed cooking in the provided lobster pot - it was delicious. Great place and we plan to go back.

Hidden Gem
Immaculate , comfortable and tastefully decorated home with stunning view of Acadia and Frenchman's Bay. Basket of goodies and card from the owner and property manager made us feel welcome and at home right away. House is very private and quiet, yet close to hiking, restaurants and stores. Owner came by with fresh lobster for us, the best we've ever had! If you like seafood, the freshest produce, watching beautiful sunsets every night from your own deck, as well as seals, and bald eagles, this is the place for you! We hiked, kayaked, and explored Acadia each morning, then relaxed on the beautiful deck or beach in the afternoon, either cooked or went out for amazing dinners, watched the sunset and made a fire pit each night, The stars were amazing!

Liked the view of Cadillac Mountain. Very quiet. Right on the water. Didn't like having to drive thru a commercial fishing property to get to the house. Also a 30mile drive to get to Acadia. One bedroom had plastic tarps stapled to the ceiling. Window screens were torn and patched with red plastic tape. No internet and TV had to be manually operated as remote did not work. Kitchen cookware was limited. Only one small cutting board and lids were missing. Appliances were very clean and in good condition. The owner was easy to reach and responded immediately to questions. She offered us a free night at the end of our stay because the house was not rented. All in all we enjoyed the house. It was very clean. Just a bit more "hunting cabin" vibe than we expected for the price.

Acadia view retreat
This property is a hidden gem and made for an amazing Maine relaxing vacation. The house is secluded and on the bay/river with its own dock. We didn’t see anyone other than the lobster boats. It was incredibly relaxing and had gorgeous views of Acadia. We enjoyed picturesque sunsets, watching wildlife - including bald eagles and seals - and sitting on the deck or by a small fire. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could have needed. We cooked many meals there, baked blueberry muffins, and has amenities like a washer and dryer which was handy. The location is great. Feels so remote but is convenient to so many things. And avoids the crowds of Bar Harbor. We rented kayaks and explored a lot right from the dock. Acadia 1 Kayak will deliver and pick up the kayak at the house for extra convenience. There is a lot of fantastic hiking in the area at Donnell Ponds Public Lands. The only thing to be cautious of is that the internet service to the house was spotty since it’s remote, so download the movies you want to watch before you go! There’s Wi-Fi at the library down the street if needed. Laura is an amazing host. Extremely responsive, friendly, and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and can’t wait to visit again.

Hancock residence
Having the property at the water's edge was amazing. We spent as much time as possible outdoors, and thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. Having the rental be only for 6 days was challenging. It was difficult and expensive to find a place for Saturday. Our experience has been that rentals are for 7 days. The place was charming and comfortable for 2 or 3 people. A few indoor changes would have made our stay more pleasant, a real bedroom door, more lighting in the main room, and a tea kettle. However, the landscape made this stay spectacular. Thanks.

Perfection and peace on a private cove
If anything, the listing undersells what is one of the best Maine locations I’ve ever stayed in. This little gem of a place sits by itself on an empty little cove towards the end of the river as it empties into Frenchmen’s Bay. A wee restful cottage, only as big as it needs to be, has all the things needed for a wonderful coastal ME experience. The gathering area has cozy couch and loveseat, plus the ideal puzzle-solving dining set. The kitchen is perfectly-sized and very well-equipped, the beds are supremely comfortable (the bedding SO wonderfully soft!), the bathroom has hot water showers at the ready and full-size washer/dryer to manage the needful. But the majesty of it all is the view out the window when you wake up in the morning, and what it feels like to sip your steaming morning coffee on the deck as you greet the local bald eagle, watch seals mess about in the water and wave to the lobstermen pulling up their pots. This place is unmatched and I did not want to leave.

Our Stay in Hancock, Maine
We had a lovely time vacationing on this property. It surpassed our expectations! The house was super clean and was very well equipped (linens, kitchen, etc.). The location was amazing - very private and right on the bay! We brought our kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed the water and the views of Mt. Desert Island. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, enjoyable, beautiful Maine getaway!

What a wonderful and picturesque cabin
We rented this beautiful spot in Maine at a bit of last minute vacation plan. How wonderful this was! The sound took my breath away, it was just So majestical with nature all around. I took So many pictures! The cabin is quite comfortable and homey even with it’s own lobster pot! Laura was great to deal with and super friendly, she answered many questions about the area. Ruth and Wimpy’s was our favorite restaurant!!! I highly recommend this Cabin in Maine!!!
