Lakefront Cottage - on the Beach -32 miles from Bar Harbor & Acadia Nationa Park
Booking tips: July & August are 7 nights, Saturday - Saturday only. Spring and fall are 5 nights or less in and out any day of the week. Contact us if you have questions.
We are just feet from the lake!! (the map location is a bit off) This lakefront cottage has everything you need for a Maine vacation you will never forget, including your own beach! Swimming, kayaking, BBQing, reading, and relaxing are just steps away. Wake up to gorgeous sunrises, coffee, and loons!
This renovated cottage features a well-equipped kitchen ready for anything from hotdogs to Maine lobster. A large fridge for plenty of cool drinks, a dishwasher so you don't have to, the 5 burner stove or maybe just cook outside on the gas BBQ.
The camp is ideal for a small family. With 2 bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and the other with a twin over a full-size bunk bed, there are plenty of sleeping options. The new bathroom has a generous size shower and laundry.
The open floor plan of the main room lets you cook, dine or just relax on the couch, all while taking in the beautiful views of George's Pond and your own sandy beach. Boaters will like the rock-free beach to land your boat. Oh, and the lake is excellent for fishing ... trout, bass, and perch. George's Pond in June is one of the best lakes in Maine for bass fishing. The cottage is moments away from a public boat launch on beautiful George's Pond, where you can launch your boat. Or just kayak out from our beach with the 4 kayaks provided for your enjoyment. We offer the best of a Maine lakefront 'camp' experience but with the conveniences of a modern home.
We've opened our home to you. Welcome to 'Two Loons'.

The location is amazing, quiet, peaceful, relaxing! We were close to Bar Harbor and Acadia but able to empty the pace and serenity off the lake that sits at your back door. Beautiful accommodations and very comfortable bed. This place made for an amazing honeymoon!
This was a great find for us. The lake and woods were a perfect mix. We found hiking and visited a little tourist town Tim was very quick to respond and we had
everything we needed.
Camp was super clean , well equipped kitchen and very comfortable. The pond is so clear & beautiful. The loons on the pond were a pleasure to take pictures of & listen to their call. We enjoyed Bar Harbor & Acadia Park . We had a fantastic time . Thank you to Tim & family for sharing his camp with us !!
Well appointed cottage. Everything you need is there. Beautiful views of the pond. Not private but the neighbors are quiet and local pets very friendly.
Loved this week! We saw so many wonderful views including the one from the porch! So much to enjoy from fishing to kayaking to just watching the sun come up. We would recommend to anyone.
Hidden treasure on a little pond in Downeast Maine
Spent a week exploring the Downeast area in Maine. Each day we returned to our rented cabin on a little pond with all the comfrents of a modern day home. Spent down time exploring the pond, watching a the wild life and enjoying the great weather. Enjoyed your comfortable cabin so much we are going to plan another trip to the area in the future.
We just came back from an amazing time in Maine . The pictures don’t due justice to the amazing views the cabin provides of the water. We love waking up and having a cup coffee and just admiring the quiet and beautiful views. The cabin is equipped with almost everything you can need. Tim was great to work with and helpful. It was nice to be away from the crowds of Bar Harbor but close enough to go if wanted to go . The cabin was nice and clean plus it was great having the water just a few feet away, the water was so clear and the kids love jumping from the dock. I would recommend this cabin any day. We hope to come back
wanted to,
This cabin was fully stocked with all needed kitchen, bathroom and laundry essentials, and was in a beautiful location on George’s Pond, with a beach and dock. Cabin was extremely clean, and the view from living area was unbeatable. The hosts were very responsive, and brought window AC units over immediately for the bedrooms when we experienced an unexpected mid-June heat wave. Kayaks were wonderful, they had fishing rods and tackle available in the shed, and my son and hubby pulled in many large bass (several over a foot) both from the kayaks and the dock. Panfishing was not great, but it’s still early in the summer. We had a perfect week at Two Loons at George’s Pond, and will definitely return.
The home was very clean and well appointed! The setting was beautiful with amazing sunset and sunrise views! The host Tim was very quick to respond with any questions we had and he also had many good ideas for things to do and places to dine. Would highly recommend this stay! If ever in Maine we would stay again!
We had a great visit to Two Loons! The house was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed to prepare meals (yay for a nice grill!) and everything needed to enjoy the lake - 4 kayaks, fishing rods and life jackets. We heard the loons everyday and saw a Bald Eagle. My kids really enjoyed fishing off the dock.
We had the best time at the two loons camp on vacation. The pond was beautiful and the camp had everything we needed. The visiting dogs from other camps were a sweet bonus.
If I get a chance to come back to this area I would definitely stay here again.
This was our first trip to Maine and we loved this cute and cozy cottage. It was clean and welcoming. Our favorite part was the dogs next door that came to hangout everyday! Great place for a small family. Our daughter enjoyed it.
My eldest daughter and I had a wonderful time here! The cabin is clean, cozy, and well-appointed. We had everything we needed and then some. We arrived late our first night to the sound of frogs and loons We enjoyed our mornings and a few afternoons just lounging around the cabin and taking stock of some wildlife (bald eagles, mama duck and ducklings) and it was the PERFECT base for exploring Acadia and Bangor as well. The owner responded to any questions very quickly! We would definitely come back and stay again- absolutely perfect
Our stay at Two Loons was great and overall was a good location to what we wanted to see and do during our visit. The home was a good size for our family of 3. It was refreshing staying in a VRBO that actually had everything we would need (as listed). We loved waking up every morning to the relaxing sounds and views over George’s Pond. We are going to recommend to everybody we know to stay here during their Maine visit and if we ever make it back to Maine we’d love to stay there again.
This property was perfect for our stay in Maine! We wanted to be within driving distance to bar harbor and Acadia but away from the hustle and bustle. The view from the cabin was even better in person than it appears on the listing, so peaceful! The house had everything we needed in the kitchen and we cooked several meals in so that was great. Also was stocked with towels, linens hair dryer, fans etc. and had full laundry as well which was nice. WiFi worked great and the Roku tv was also nice to unwind to at night. The outdoor spaces were not very private due to proximity to neighbors but this was never an issue, everyone was nice that we encountered. We brought our own kayaks but was nice to see several available to use if desired. Caught some white perch in the pond and had a bald eagle swoop down and grab a fish we just released just feet from our kayak!(very cool)We would absolutely stay again!
Cute as a button and well thought out in maximizing space and comfort ability. Waking up to that view everyday was such a treat. Peaceful, non fussy place. A little off the beaten path. But totally worth the little drive to Bar Harbor, Acadia. Made our first trip to Maine very special. And made us want to come back when we have more time. So much to see and do. And everywhere you look, looks like a postcard. Ahhhh!!!
This was the first trip to Maine for my wife and I, and we wanted to stay in an area that was a balance between being close to the "action" but yet far enough away to have some peaceful relaxing evenings.
This place did not disappoint! A beautiful cottage both inside and out. A great setting by the water with an excellent view. We also enjoyed a trip around the lake with the provided kayaks. I took a fishing rod and took no more than 25 casts and managed to catch 1 largemouth and 2 smallmouth bass. So i would say if your looking to do some fishing it looks like you could be in for some good action.
We visited the majority of the main attractions and had a blast doing some hiking around Acadia. A long day on the trails, dinner in bar harbor, and then a brief ride back to the peaceful super clean and cozy cottage was just the balance we were looking for. Would definately stay here again, going to recommend to some of our friends.. A++
Tim was a pleasure to work with. Great communication leading up to our stay, and checked in to make sure everything was going well while we were there. Regarding the cottage, it was extremely clean and well kept. The cottage is also stocked with anything you may need. It sits directly on the pond with beautiful views of Cadillac mountain. Make sure to catch the picturesque sunrise and enjoy a fire in the pit at night underneath the stars. Location to Acadia and Schoodic point was great. We had no issues driving into Acadia each day for hiking. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you very much!
Such a beautiful setting and cottage was very nice. Tim had all the amenities you might need - super thoughtful! The fall setting was gorgeous and we did utilize the kayaks as well. Very peaceful and relaxing - quick drive to Acadia and scenic w the fall colors. Highly recommend his cottage and hope we can go back again some day soon. Thank you for sharing your cottage w us!
We really enjoyed our stay at 2 loons! It has breathtaking views of George's pond, kayaks for exploring, and plenty of wildlife with ducks and, of course, loons. It was clean, comfy, and well equipped. Definitely a great place to stay if you truly want to experience the beauty of Maine!
