These permanent, colorful structures have thick canvas exterior walls that include reflective insulation and a high efficiency heat pump/AC unit so you can be comfortable during any season. Yurts are quickly becoming a new vacation experience that vacationers are enjoying throughout the US from cliff side views in California to ski lodges in Colorado. A truly wonderful place to stay - peaceful, comfortable, and Karen & Aaron truly thought of everything in designing the yurts. We loved our visit here and hope to return again soon!
Acadia Yurts was beyond our expectations. We found it nice and quiet with terrific accommodations for us and our two pets. The location was convenient for each destination we chose thru the weekend. Would recommend & plan on coming back.
Acadia Yurts was cozy, clean, quaint and provided a spacious Yurt for 2 adults and 2 dogs! The grounds are a perfect place for anyone looking to get away and stay in touch with nature. Karen and Aaron’s hospitality made our stay that much more enjoyable.
Lovely! The yurt is beautiful, and the little barn on the property with borrow-able supplies/board games is a thoughtful touch. And of course Acadia is glorious. Recommended. :)
Perfect Accommodations for visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor
We stayed in the Sargent Mtn Yurt with our dog, Max. It was so spacious with all the comforts of home. It was easy to get to Acadia hiking trails and Bar Harbor. It was so peaceful to sleep under the yurt's dome skylight and awake to the sunrise. The hosts were in contact before and during our stay to make sure all of our needs were met. We hope to return with family one day soon!
We stayed for 5 days and have nothing but rave reviews! The hosts were easily accessible for any questions/needs we had. The property is lovely and the yurt was surprisingly spacious! It is the perfect location to access Acadia hiking trails and definitely recommend the coffee shop at the bottom of the street! One unique surprise is the large skylight in the Yurt that woke us up each morning with warm sun and put us the bed watching the rain each night!
Quiet & peaceful- just what we needed after a busy day in and around Acadia Nat’l park. Enjoyed “all the comforts of home” in a yurt nestled in the woods. This was our second time staying here and it was as special as the first time.
My 8-yr-old son and I had a relaxing week at Acadia Yurts. Great location on other side of island. Facilities were nice, comfortable and quiet. Would recommend.
This place is amazing. I was impressed by it all. It's in nature but still close to everything.
Very Clean and cozy. Full kitchen.
Owners/managers are very nice and welcoming.
I would stay here again and for sure recommend this place!

I stayed with my two young daughters. The yurt was clean and stocked with everything we needed for us to enjoy our time at Acadia. The owners are wonderful! They were kind and very helpful. We appreciated their recommendations and help making our stay comfortable. It was a great experience. We would definitely stay again.
As soon as we arrived at Acadia Yurts, we knew immediately that we had selected the perfect place to stay! The property is peaceful, pristine and enveloped in stunning nature. The yurt was AWESOME and an amazing experience for us and our pups! We loved coming back to the yurt after a full day of adventure in Acadia each day. The owners are so friendly and warm and have really cultivated a wonderful vibe at their property. We loved our stay!
Our stay at Acadia Yurts was top of the line. Four of us ventured to Maine/ Acadia for the first time and it was also our first time staying in a Yurt! Karen has done an incredible job at fusing the camping life and the regular BNB life in to one to create a true glamping experience. I met Karen on the property as she was passing by and she was so helpful in giving suggestions on where to eat that night. 10 out of 10 stay - cant wait to come back again!
We came for my 60th birthday and had a great time. The yurt was clean and had everything we needed. It was so quiet, so wonderfully quiet. We were lucky enough to be there for a couple of rainy nights and one very starry night--can you see stars from your bed? Every day we could walk our little dogs down the road and very quickly be inside Acadia. Do yourself a favor and book your own stay. You deserve the same peaceful experience we enjoyed.
The place is just magical. Grounds are lovely- perfectly located! All the comforts of home-but still a camping feel. The hosts are super nice and helpful. While Acadia was beautiful- The Yurt was my favorite thing! Will definitely be back. Do yourself a favor and book this yurt! Also treat yourself to a service at the wellness center. The sauna was great after hiking!
The yurt was described perfectly. Roomier then expected. Super clean. Supplied with everything you will need. Very quiet. If you do forget something you will most likely find it in the red barn. Owners are very accommodating. If we ever visit Maine again this will be our go to place. I would recommend to anyone.
The most unusual and delightful place. Very roomy, exceptionally clean, a lot of well thought through spaces to spread your stuff, easy communication with the owners.
I highly recommend wellness center, particularly massage with Alexandra.
There is one note to be aware regarding Wi-Fi: we rented two yurts, we had reliable signal at Flying Mountain and less reliable signal at Sargeant Mountain.
I recommend to check out these food places nearby:
- Hodgdon’s seafood at Seal Cove
- Quietside snacks at Bernard
Thanks to Karen&Aaron for their hospitality.
This place was a delight, the Yurt was the perfect place to recharge after hiking all day in Acadia. The Yurt was clean and cozy with all the essentials you could need provided, including some outdoor seating to enjoy the cool breeze. The location was fantastic, within a 20 minute drive to anywhere and within a 5 minute drive to some trailheads. Also bonus points because this place is dog friendly and our pup enjoyed the stay too.
I think the only complaint we have (which isn't within the owners control) is the noise. Unfortunately, the Yurt next to ours didn't respect quiet hours so we frequently heard them up to 11:30pm sometimes. In addition, there seems to be a gun range or something of the sort nearby and during the afternoons you can hear the shots ringing out. The owners do provide ear plugs to help muffle some of the noises.
Side note, you don't get to park near your yurt or tiny home during the stay, there is a communal parking lot for you to park in and then walk to your yurt/tiny home. This wasn't an issue but something I didn't see in my searching and reading up on the yurts, so just a heads up to future bookers.
The Yurt was spotless, the host thought of everything a traveler might need. Little things like lots of hooks and hangers, and places to store things for the stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the host stayed in contact and was available to us if needed. The property was beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
