This cottage boasts sunset views, echoes of calling loons and a warm, cozy interior. The cottage is also a short 40 minute drive away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, with all the wonderful sights, hiking and biking that Mount Desert Island has to offer.

The Golden Pond Cottage features three warm and inviting bedrooms, two full baths, cathedral living room, center waterside deck and spacious kitchen and dining area. The atmosphere here is pure country living, with an open interior, charming knotty pine walls and hardwood floors.

The centerpiece of the cottage is its cathedral living room with overlooking balcony, large gable windows and glass front fireplace. Its kitchen features a breakfast bar and water view dining area, and, like the living room, offers easy access to its center waterside deck through French doors.

Maine vacation
The property was a secluded cabin in the woods on a beautiful lake. Four kayaks and a canoe along with all the lifejackets you could want. Master room had a beautiful view. The only negatives were that the master bedroom mattress is not the most comfortable and the upstairs bathroom had no shower - only a bathtub. We drove to Acadia quite often and it was an hour drive. Close to a 1/2 hour drive for a grocery store but I would say the seclusion of the lake was probably worth the long drives. Great fishing - sunfish and bass.

Relaxing Stay in Otis
We had a lovely, tranquil week staying at Sue's home in Otis. My partner, mother, grandmother and I had more than enough room in this spacious, two-floor house to play cards, cook together, and enjoy views of the lake. It rained most of the week, so we weren't able to take full advantage of the outdoors, but the house came with four kayaks, a canoe, paddles, and plenty of life jackets. Both Sue and the property manager were extremely kind and responsive. We ran into a few small issues during our stay and Sue was so quick to respond with helpful guidance! I do want to note that the house doesn't have potable water, but Sue provided three gallons of spring water, and we had no trouble boiling the tap water for our tea and coffee. Overall this was a lovely stay that I fully recommend if you want a peaceful vacation on a beautiful lake!

Wonderful retreat
This property is outstanding. We had a wonderful time canoeing on the gorgeous pond and sitting on the decks. The wood stove was great to have on chilly mornings. The hosts have thought of everything. It’s so peaceful and private. We cannot wait to return next year!!!

Beech hill pond
We pulled up to the rental and just looking at it we knew it was exactly what we were looking for, a quiet property surrpunded and shaded by the trees. We walked in and everything was very clean and organized and it's fully loaded. The kitchen has everything you'll need for it your stay, and there's even a nice clean BBQ out on the patio for grilling! More than enough room for my girlfriend and I and my parents to hang out between the living room, kitchen, loft, patio and even a nice patio down by its own private dock where we were swimming, fishing and canoeing (kayaks and a big double canoe were there for our use) and the water was very clear and clean. The general store was only 6 minutes down the road and they had most essentials but other than that we didn't mind driving 20-25 minutes into ellsworth where they have grocery stores and other shopping! Long story short we will try to make it a yearly trip and get the same rental as everyone fell in love with the house an and very private quiet property!

Peaceful, Relaxing Week
Our family of 3 had plenty of space. The kayaks and canoes were in great shape. The house has everything and anything you could need from outdoor enjoyment, board games, cooking needs, reading to sightseeing information. We used the Acadia map and hiking book multiple times to plan our days in the park. The pond was very peaceful during the week. My husband caught several small mouth bass. It was a great week!
