We all get severe allergic reactions to washing powder used for bedsheets and pillows covers. Food was good in restaurant. Location is great but the rooms & service is out of date. No lift.

Lovely hotel. Stayed here before. Nice staff. Food was very nice. My only disappointment was the heating in my room was off. I was absolutely freezing throughout the night.

Work Hotel Stay
I work for a company that does a lot of work up that way, we are based at Silsoe in Bedfordshire, and the job i had to do was at Turriff, the normal hotel i stay at was fully booked so booked to stay Banff Spring Hotel another 13 minutes or so up the road, my stay here was lovely, very comfortable and well worth the money, will definitely be requesting to stay here again in the future.

We had a great time we stayed 2 days, the staff were great and friendly food lovely rooms were great no problems at all. We had 2 rooms with a lovely beach and sea views. Great time had by all.

Lovely hotel, but…..
This a lovely hotel. We stayed in the Banffshire room, which we s a great room. The only thing that was wrong with the room was the bathroom sink, which was cracked and really unfit for purpose. The tap above the sink, whilst looking stylish, it was not at all easy to use. The tiny lever gave 3 position hot, cold and somewhere in between. It was stiff to operate it and my wife was not able to use the tap without my assistance. If you have any weakness in your hands you will struggle. Clearly functionality was not a consideration when the bathroom fittings were selected. The food was excellent but the service could be painfully slow. We waited 30 mins to order breakfast and then only when I had a word with a member of staff. So overall, a lovely and comfortable hotel, but it needs to brush up its act to get a higher rating.

The room was good and the food was fairly good but the service in the bar and restaurant was very poor at times whilst dining you had the impression that the staff couldn't get you out quickly enough and if you wanted a drink you had to go and find staff as the bar was very rarely staffed the hotel is in a nice location the reception staff are nice and helpful but the restaurant and bar service really let it down

Third stay this year- go back as staff are friendly, helpful and really try to ensure you have a good experience. Food good too. Rooms OK given age and well maintained by cleaning staff.

Rooms are small considering we booked and paid for a premium sea view room. Some of the furnishing was tired and damaged and the room had a strong musky smell. When we raised this the manager was rude, hostile and combative towards us. On the plus side the dining area had first rate decor and excellent view across the bay. Breakfast was excellent, dining staff extremely pleasant and the dining menu (not bar menu) was first class.

We came here because we lived in Banff, Canada, many years ago, and wanted to see the original. We are very glad we did as it was a relaxing break from our busy itinerary. Most tourists don't see this corner of Scotland, and it is well worth the visit.
