Beautiful escape near the beach

Great location close to beach and downtown. Tons of space. Amenities are dated as others mentioned but was totally fine for our stay. Vacasa was great checkin process etc.

Location good, communication can be better
The property grew on us as the weekend went along. Beware however, the mermaid owners/managers are building a house next door. We had workers arrive at 6:25 on a Saturday morning to install garage doors waking us all up way too early on our vacation. The windows were also all dirty so you can’t see much and the heating/cooling system didn’t work, only a handful of windows has screens to allow us to let the air in (and ensure no bugs). The house overall has good space and is a short walk to the amazing beach and “stacks” as well as a short walk to the town center.

Madison Street stay
Nice and clean and good location. Advertised as three beds there was only two bedrooms. There was a third bed but it was not sleepable. Very poor living room furniture very uncomfortable. No firewood was available as advertised. A $300 rebate would be appropriate.

Door code did not work, on hold 20 minutes to resolve. TV did not work. Not very clean, needs interior paint. Two of three main area heaters did not work. Slept four comfortably, not eight as advertised. Submitted a previous review saying the same things and asked for partial refund!!

Cozy and comfortable, but dated
Overall clean and comfortable, but the furniture is dated (think 1990s). Also there were several items that were worn or broken. For instance, carpet stains, torn rugs, the telescope was broken and many of the blinds didn't work very well. We would probably go back, but it wasn't as nice as the photos made it look.

Nice location, clean home, well stocked
Lovely home, nice location, very short walk to the beach. Lots of space to spread out. The beds are fair, pillows are very flat, and the futon and couch are a little rough. Everything is there for you but it might be time to do some upgrades to the furniture. The lock box for the key is horrible. I had to call to get help to get in. Luckily the manager came in about 10-15 minutes to assist.

We stayed in this home for 1 week and hiked along the Oregon coast every day. The home is a block from the Bandon beach and visible from the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen has the basic essentials, but lacked several items. Communication with Vacasa to ask for a few items was difficult. And produced mediocre results.

Great week!
Bandon is our favorite place to vacation at the Oregon beach. We usually take our travel trailer and stay at state parks. This trip we decided to fly into Medford, rent a car, and reserved a house. We had a great time and were only a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Great house
Great location a block or so from the beach, quiet. We were just 2 people and a dog but would be really nice for a small group/family as has large open floor plan and eating area for 8 people. Kitchen could have been outfitted better but that seems pretty standard for rental houses (we are spoiled by very nice kitchen at home). Otherwise very nice place to stay!

Great location!
Perfect location for our active family. It’s a short walk to the beach and about 20 minutes to town. Could use some maintenance as far as burned out light bulbs and broke blinds. Overall it was a great size for our family of 6.

The location of the property is excellent! We enjoyed walking to the Beach and around the neighborhood. Check in was super easy. The upstairs carpet has a musty odor that wanes when windows are open and the house could use a deep cleaning. All in all it served its purpose.

Location was superb. No ocean views (except second floor bedroom) but the beach was very easily accessible. Walk to the town center was longer but doable if you don’t mind walking. House was open space, tidy, and the kitchen was well stocked with equipment. Carpeting in bedrooms needs to be replaced ASAP and is the source of the musty smell. Bedding should be upgraded to white 100% cotton. Towels were clean but were much too worn for guest use. Couches/futons are cheap IKEA and rickety. The banquet wood dining table is fantastic. Space has a lot of potential.

Wonderful Getaway
The Mermaid House provided a lovely space to enjoy the magical town of Bandon. Everything was perfect with the minor exception of the fog horn going off every 45 seconds. It was a bit annoying during the night hours. The home was lovely.

Cute home, however smelled of fish and carpets were pretty dirty and in need of a good cleaning.
It's ashame that previous guests did not appreciate and take care of the home as I may imagine the owner may have wished they had... It is well stocked with kitchens amenities, beds are very comfortable, lenins are nice, but futons show signs of abuse and need repair.

Great place to stay with toddlers!
Loved the open layout of the house and proximity to the beach. It was perfect for four friends and their four two year olds to vacation together! Plenty of linens, towels, pillows to accommodate all of us and we loved the large table we could all fit around!

The Mermaid House has a great open floor plan, with tasteful decor, and close to the beach. We needed a home that was handicap accessible and we appreciate those who consider people with disabilities to enjoy the beautiful Bandon By The Sea.
