About this property
Charles Village 1-BR, Walk to Johns Hopkins
Overview: A few blocks from Johns Hopkins Homewood campus, on a quiet Charles Village street of Victorian row houses. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, coffee, and the Waverly Farmers Market, with the free JHU shuttle a block away. Inside: a bedroom with a desk, a separate sitting room, and a full kitchen. One note so there are no surprises, this is a third-floor walkup. We'd love to host you!
The space: We're a Baltimore family and have cared for this building for years. This is a real, lived-in home, not a stripped-down rental.
The top-floor unit has a bedroom with a desk for working, a separate sitting room with a comfortable couch, and a full kitchen. It sleeps two in the bed, and we have a twin air mattress for a third person if you need it, just let us know.
It's a good fit for a visiting professor, a Hopkins family in town for a visit or graduation, a researcher on assignment, or anyone who'd rather settle into the neighborhood for a few weeks or months than book a hotel.
What's here: * Fresh linens, extra pillows and blanket * Full kitchen: fridge, oven, stove, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, coffee pot * Wifi and a smart TV for your streaming accounts * Breakfast table and a desk
Guest access: The apartment is yours. You're also welcome to use the shared front porch, the shared fenced backyard (best in spring, summer, and fall), and the basement laundry, which has a free washer and dryer. Since those areas are shared with others in the building, we just ask that you tidy up after yourself and any pets.
Getting around: Johns Hopkins Homewood is about four blocks away, and the free Hopkins shuttle stops a block from the door, running to Penn Station, Mt. Vernon, and the Johns Hopkins medical campus and graduate schools in East Baltimore. City buses and the Charles Village Circulator are close by, and it's a straight shot down St. Paul or Maryland Avenue to Mt. Vernon, the Inner Harbor, and Camden Yards, all under about ten minutes by car or bus.
You're steps from the St. Paul Street shops, Safeway and Giant supermarkets, with the Baltimore Museum of Art (free entry) close by. The Waverly Farmers Market, two blocks away on 32nd Street, runs Saturdays 7am to noon, year-round. Hampden, Guilford, and Roland Park are an easy trip north for more food and shopping.
We're typically a phone call or text away, so if there's anything you're interested in that we haven't covered, just ask.
