Plan your getaway at this all season retreat located on a quiet bayou on all sports Big Star Lake. The bayou offers a peaceful setting with abundant wildlife which can be observed when sitting on any of the multi level decks that offer 2 dining tables, comfortable seating, fire pit, grill and lounge chairs.
Take a stroll in the 2 kayaks or paddle boat provided or bring your own boat and jet skis which can be stored at the dock on your 100’ of lake frontage. There is also plenty of room for parking toys in the driveway!
The well known trout streams and ATV/snowmobile trails are nearby as well as Marquette Trail Golf Course.
This location is also perfect for day trips to Lake Michigan with Ludington only 35 miles away, Traverse City 70 miles and 80 miles to Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Inside this freshly remodeled home with central air and high speed internet you will find an open concept kitchen with island and dining table perfect for games and entertaining! The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, eating and cooking utensils, pans, microwave, keurig, griddle and blender.
This area is open to the generous size living room with electric wall fireplace, TV with cable and sliders leading to deck.
Each bedroom has its own appointed bathroom which are on opposite sides of the home giving each plenty of privacy! Towels, linens and blankets provided. The laundry room is equipped with a washer, dryer and ironing board as well.

Lakefront retreat

Host was great and responded to all questions fast. The house was beautiful with a nice view of the lake. We had everything we needed and more. We would definitely stay here again

Perfect Getaway

Cottage is awesome, clean and with all the amenities you could possibly need. We stayed for two nights for a quick getaway for my husbands birthday and visited Silver Lake Sand Dunes (approx 40 mins away) and used the rowboat to enjoy Big Star Lake and do some fishing. Beautiful view, as advertised and even better in person! Looking forward to a return trip :)

We were delighted with the cabin and our time there. We enjoyed the view, the trees, the thoughtfully constructed stairway with levels, the firepit — and the s’more fixings Jodi left for us.

Beautiful cottage in the woods!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage on Big Star Lake SO much. The communication with Jodi before and throughout our stay (we had a couple of questions while we were there) was prompt and helpful. The cottage itself is very nice, comfortable and well-equipped. Highly recommend!

Great location, quiet area

The property was just as described. Quiet cabin on the lake and well furnished. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning on the deck and a cozy fire during the evening. Jodi was quick to respond to any questions we had. Checking in and checking out was easy. We had a very relaxing time and would stay here again!

AMAZING WKND.

The home and property were beautifully kept. And the sounds of bullfrogs all night was amazing! Highly enjoyed the nice fire pit area in the evenings while listening to and taking in nature. Would def. stay here again.

Lake view house

Extremely peaceful setting in the woods with a spectacular view of a beautiful lake. We were here in October for salmon fishing nearby. I am sure this is a fantastic place to be in the summer. The host was very accommodating to our needs. An awesome property and host.

A+ VRBO experience

This was a beautiful property - both the home and the setting. Clean and modern. The owners were fantastic to work with. Great communication. We rented their pontoon boat for a very rainy Saturday so they graciously allowed us to use it on Sunday at no additional charge! We plan to return again next year - might be our go-to VRBO :)

UpNorth trip

The property and house were perfect. We rented their ponton boat to go fishing and boat riding. Boat was great the lake was bigger than we thought it would be. We will book again next year for sure. Thank you again.

Perfect lakefront getaway.

The rental was pristine and the owner attentive and accommodating. All my questions were answered in a timely manner and the owners did everything they could to enhance our stay. Highlights included a spacious deck with a fireplace, elderly-friendly stairs to the water, and a sun-soaked dock with ample seating. We docked our boat with ease and enjoyed the vast 1000-acre lake, ideal for swimming, water sports, and cruising. Overall, 10/10 experience and I’d happily rent this property again in the future.

Restful tranquility

The property was amazing. The house was super clean and cozy. Jodi had everything you could possibly need from kitchen supplies, games, fishing gear, kayaks, paddle boat, and firewood. She even left us a gift for our first fire. She gave us great suggestions when we chose to venture out. We rented her pontoon for a day on the lake. Don't hesitate to stay here. We hope to return.

Everything was Excellent

Friends and I rented this cabin for the weekend, and it was amazing! The inside has been updated and it’s really clean. Outside you have five decks with great views, and you’re surrounded by trees. We grilled food, went kayaking, went swimming, this property has it all. Jodi was very responsive, even though we really didn’t need anything. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back next year!

Big Star Lake Home Rental

We rented the 2 BR 2 Bath house for 4 Nights, along with a fishing pontoon boat at the property. We very much enjoyed our stay. The area and home site are surrounded by forest which is very peaceful. When on the lake, the air temperature is pleasantly cooler, making an 88-degree day feel like 75 degrees. Nice fire pit, we did S'mores. Interior of home is clean, liked the laminate flooring. TV and internet worked fine. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes and utensils. Grocery store 10 minutes away had everything we needed. Ludington State Park and Lake Michigan beach is 35 minute drive.

Stop your search and just book this one!

What a wonderful place to stay for a few days while we explored the Sleeping Dunes area. Immaculate home on a beautiful lake setting – it just couldn’t have been nicer for our group. We ate breakfast and dinner here each day and found that the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The home has been newly remodelled so everything top to bottom is new, clean, and gorgeous. Jodi responded to my questions beforehand immediately so that I could prepare for our trip and was kind enough even to leave a load of firewood, fixings for s’more’s for the campfire, and brought over fresh donuts our first morning there. Very attentive and exceptional host! My husband and I were travelling with visitors from Texas for this holiday and I wanted to really show off the Midwest – staying here was just an added bonus. I hadn’t anticipated that our hosts would really show them what “Midwest nice“ is all about. Wonderful home and wonderful hosts! Thank you. 😊

Perfect Little Cottage

I wish I could give a rating of 10 and wasn’t limited to 5 stars! The house itself is immaculate and well stocked for all of your needs! You can easily sleep 6 comfortably using the air mattress in the living area while still having use of the room (this trip was 2 of us but we are a big family so I was scoping it out). There is ample parking and the frontage is well maintained as well. The decking outside with seating is great as well as the landings on your way down the stairs. The railings and steps are well maintained and we had no reservations traversing them. We had such a wonderful, peaceful time and cannot wait to come back! I have been coming to this lake for over 35 years and it’s one of the best experiences I’ve had. Owners are easily accessible and helpful. There is a helpful note to let you know not only property expectations but also lake rules and quiet times for the area. The welcome gift was awesome too! We will be back for sure!

Awesome property, as advertised!

House was beautiful with all the amenities you could need. Host was thoughtful-had provided provisions for smores.Kids had a blast enjoying the lake with the kayaks/ rowboat and fishing. We also enjoyed some day trips over to Ludington for pier fishing and walking along beautiful sandy beaches of Lake Michigan rock hounding. We made great family memories. Would highly recommend staying here!
