Relax in a rocking chair on the wraparound porch of this three bedroom oceanfront home and get lost at sea watching the dolphins play or taking in a beautiful sunset. Welcome to Carolina Dreaming, a stately oceanfront home with a commanding, uninterrupted, nearly 180 degrees views of the Atlantic Ocean. . The home has direct beach access via a private boardwalk from the house to the beach. Sleeps 10 (max.) 3 Bedrooms (1K-2B; 1K-2B, 1K). 2 full baths and 1 half bath. (2) 4 passenger carts, (1) 6 passenger cart. Direct beach access. Summer season check-in and check-out day is Saturday. 4:30 pm arrival/10:30 am departure.

Check-in and out days in summer season is Saturday-Saturday. Ferry reservations should be made to coincide with the assigned check-in/out times which are 4:30pm property check-in and 10:00am property check-out. Ferry reservations should be made no earlier than 4:00pm. for arrivals and no later than 10:30am for departures. There are no accommodations made for early check-in or late arrivals.

Great location but long in the tooth

The property is in need of much TLC throughout the inside and outside. We were told by property manager that there was nothing in the house like beach chairs etc and that we needed to rent the stuff we needed. Or haul it over on the ferry. Turns out we needed nothing. There were beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, high chairs, booster seat, and crib. The cost of renting this stuff was obscene. I think the property manager must be in cahoots with the rental company. BHI is not as quaint as it used to be. And we have been going there for about 30 years.

Carolina Dreaming

The location was great and the check in and out process was smooth. Overall it was fine just need to be updated. The kitchen needs the most updating . Also the kitchen items seem to be just put together and older pots pans and glasses. With the cost of the rental I would expect a more up to date house. Overall great location and the house was clean and worked well for our family.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The hot water heater needs to be turned up because there’s not enough hot water to take a bath or more than one shower. The golf carts were in poor condition and would hold a charge, while the third golf card which was included in the rental was not available for our entire stay.

Such a nice place, but not much to do in bad weather

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bald Head Island is lovely, but we were there during an unfortunately cold and windy week. A few of the restaurants were open, but the hours and days were limited, so guests should plan accordingly. Our house was very clean, well located, and was just like the photos online, but the bed in the master bedroom is incredibly uncomfortable. There also were insufficient cups and glasses (one wine glass, two juice glasses). I am sure the owners will refresh the furnishings for the upcoming season, but we expected a bit more for the price we paid.

Disappointing

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived to a leaky toilet, a crib with no mattress, mold in various places, a front hall closet full with junk. A master closet similarly filled with old furniture, A/C filters. The management company got the toilet fixed after two visits, but were really were trying not to have people in and out of the house which is why we did not get people in to fix other things. We were promised two carts, but only one had keys, And the list goes on. We have been renting at Bald Head for 45 years. This was the only house we ever stayed in that had problems like this. Its nice it had been recently been repainted and had new floors, but left over flooring was under the furniture in the living room. Very disappointing.
