We booked a non-smoking room but the first room allocated to us had strong smoking odour. The manager acknowledged that most of their customers disregard the non-smoking signs. He had to open a few rooms to finally find one that didn't smell. Another thing about the location of the hotel and the clientele. It didn't seem like a safe place.
ac unit didn't work which made it hard to sleep. The mattress was very uncomfortable and the pillows were very thin. The amenities and the yeah, the room we're very outdated. And there was only lukewarm water.

The property was fairly run low rent but the room was super clean , and spacious, comfortable sofa and padded chairs . It’s an older po
Room was clean, beds are comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was a bit of a surprise but it was fine. Commode sometimes had to be flushed twice and the sink and tub drains were slow but drained. Overall, it was good and the cost was reasonable.
States it was non smoking but the room smelled of smoke, old building it was clean though

“You get what you pay for!”The faucet in the bathroom didn’t work. The heater couldn’t get regulated and the “clean filter” light was on. The manager was nice and friendly. “Breakfast” was a pitcher of orange “juice” and one of milk and a dispenser of cold cereal.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
Room was clean, place is a 1950's hotel with very little upgrade.
parking was like parking in an alley, very diffucult to back far enough out of parking stall without hitting dumsters along building on other side of alley.
If you just looking for a place to sleep one night you found it.
Pros - there was a bed/bathroom and hot water with good water pressure. The manager on duty (lives on site so one of the only employees likely) was friendly.
That being said, glad it was only one night and wouldn’t stay here again.
Cons - the sheets and towels were dirty, it is almost impossible to regulate the temperature in the room (either gets way too hot or way too cold), the breakfast was embarrassing for a hotel provided breakfast, and included items the manager brought out from his apartment, there was no hand soap in the room, and the room smelled like it used to be a smoking room for many years and they smell still lingers.
I would absolute pay more for an improved place if I ever stay in Bakers City again.

Sleepless in Baker City
The check-in went well. The gentleman was friendly and helpful. The place looked a little run down but not terrible considering the price.
Once I settled in after 10:00 I was gently lulled to sleep by the moaning sounds coming from the next room from the tweaker couple who decided after an hour's worth of shagging they had to rearrange their furniture for some reason at midnight.
3:00 in the morning the train rolls through town and blast its horn for 15 minutes. So any thought of getting continuous sleep is only a dream. Of course, that's not the fault of the hotel.
When I woke up I realized I had donated a small amount of blood to the local bed bug population. But all in all the 3 hours of sleep I got were blissful at least from what I don't remember.
Yes the room was clean. Yes the bathroom was clean. Yes, the bed was comfortable but considering the other challenges I would consider somewhere else next time.
