Wonderful Stay
This place is a gift. Beautiful views and location. Lots of beach area for kids to play and explore. Just wonderful. The cottage is clean, neatly appointed, and cozy. Really enjoyed the unique furniture. Stayed warm inside on some cold days.

This was my second time here. I came back for my birthday after having twin babies at 28 weeks and they spent 2 months in the NICU. They’re stable, home and safe. I needed a place to recover from all the stress. I had been here previously for my birthday. It was perfect and exactly what I needed.

Quick getaway
This is the most nostalgic place for my family. It’s peaceful, time away from screens, box stores, and just allows you to rest and connect. Every time we’re here we look for property to purchase. We love it!

This place was cheaply built in the 1940s and furnished in the 1970s and that is what you are getting. Simple as that. Great location is the only plus. Want more details, see my Vacasa post if they ever share it.

Gorgeous views from rustic cabin
My family of 6 adults had a wonderful time relaxing and watching the ocean in this tiny rustic cabin. Nothing fancy, but the perfect place to enjoy each other's company and the amazing view.

Perfect location anyway….
So the location is awesome and could be a good reason to come here. The problem is that it’s not rustic, it’s run down. Furniture is old, dirty, and pieces broken with written notes of how to use until it’s fixed. Lighting is basically lamps here and there; the kitchen is a single bulb. Safety issue in bathroom as there is a baseboard heater mounted at toilet seat height and maybe 3” away. It can’t be to RCW code. Seriously, you need to be careful. It was a bad experience and we ended up leaving a day early as we had just had enough. I hike and camp outside; I’m not just trying to bash this place. But from the torn lamp shades to the dirty broken furniture it was just too “rustic”.

The location was great and sitting in the patio watching the sea lions in the morning is magical and the views at night are soothing. Super quiet here too

Lovely home with an amazing view
We had such a wonderful week on Bainbridge. This house is perfectly located on the water, not far from the ferry and near a park. Most days we were just mesmerized by all the life in the Sound - we saw a family of otters, sea lions, dolphin and more birds than we could count. The house is one of the original houses in the spit. Very comfortable, lovely pieces of art and great books. We are excited to bring the family next time!

Unique 1940s fishing shack
Beautiful and quiet location. Interesting and quirky house. Easy access to Seattle Ferry. Perfect place to stay away from hustle and bustle of Seattle, but close enough to visit every day. Enjoyed our stay!

Charming waterfront cottage
The main attraction of this property was by far the location, just steps from the waters of the Puget Sound. It’s a charming little cottage with your own private waterfront. I would have given this property a five star rating were it not for a bag of laundry left in one of the bedrooms, a damaged blinder in one of the rooms and a dirty pot and dish in the kitchen. Also, it would have been nice to have a large modern TV in the common area. We loved the views and enjoyed our stay.

This is a very unique old sea cottage. The view of Puget Sound is incredible. For us it was unforgettable and reason alone to return. Greatly appreciated were the books, the friendly neighbors, the easy access to Winslow and Fay Bainbridge Park. A king bed would be a great addition! This property is on our return list.

Rustic Retreat
I booked this Vrbo for my husband. It has been such a rough few months and he has stopped sleeping. But he came home from a weekend at this Vrbo well-rested and was so happy with his stay. His words: Comfortable bed, very clean, good long walk on the beach, loved the reading chairs facing an amazing view and great book selection. It is hard to find space to slow down and unplug - this Vrbo is that space.

Charming place
The best part of this place is that it is on the water. There was an extremely small television (10”) and no Channel’s except for basic cable. The living room not conducive to lounging at all. We were really looking forward to watching the Australian Open and a good movie together. The kitchen is not a cook’s kitchen. No oven (toaster oven instead) and very few sharp knives for instance. The beds were comfortable with nice sheets.

This stay was so fun. You definitely will want to check in with the kitchen supplies to make sure what you will need to bring if you plan on cooking. The main part of town is a good 15-20 min so we only did take out once in a week. So had to get creative on some of the cooking items. We had some hot water issues that went undiagnosed and couldn't take baths which was hard with kids. Tub would not fill up more than about 1/4 until it went cold. No other hot water going on in the house at the same time and no other issues with other items using hot water, just the tub/shower. Vacasa refunded us $25 but it didn't get fixed. Door handle kept falling off on one of the bathroom doors. Check out was also generic due to vacasa's properties, not specific to THIS property. Loved the decor through, rustic/beach/mid century and you can tell there is a lot of history there. Thank you!

Incredible views of the sound
We really enjoyed our time at this lovely, rustic beach home. It’s right on the water. Waking up to a view of the sound was just what we needed to recharge. Tons of wildlife right outside the door. The house is definitely beach-rustic, but oh so charming and well laid out. Really functional. We felt right at home instantly. We enjoyed having a grill and fireplace. The park down the road is walkable and perfect for kids. If you’re looking for a spot to unplug, read a book, and get back to basics, we highly recommend this home.

Not what we expected....
The cottage is advertised as historic but it isn’t what we expected. There was a hole in a floor board and some ceiling titles were cracked/broken with an interesting patch job in the kitchen and a broken one over the bunk bed. The floors were very uneven-more than you would expect with an older building. We ran out of gas for the grill (both tanks were empty) after only grilling hotdogs the day before-I called the property manager’s number and it went to a voicemail. We ended up getting more gas the next day but it was extremely unfortunate timing when we ran out of gas because we were trying to cook dinner. Our impression (based upon conversations, general responsiveness, and the comments that we heard the manager make) was we were an inconvenience. I recommend that the listing be updated to highlight the trip hazards and the general condition of the property. Thankfully, no one fell, but it was a concern for a person in my group. They tried to achieve a modern/chic/beach vibe but in my opinion, they fell very short of the desired effect.

Long weekend with family and friends
The cabin was exactly as I imagined. Fit our needs perfectly. Rustic and charming space to unplug! Small kitchen that was surprising well supplied. The back bedrooms offered a perfect spot for our teen boy to occasionally get some space from his sister. But mostly, our time was spent outside beach combing, paddling and just admiring the view. Wow! The view from inside and outside was fantastic. We were even able to view the comet at night! Vacasa is extremely difficult to connect with right now! There were some minor maintenance issues that we just lived with. They didn’t detract from our good time, it was just frustrating that there was no local contact to take care of the issues (Outside garbage and recycling were full/overflowing, ants in kitchen and no laundry detergent).

Wonderful Little Escape
If you’re looking for a great little escape and enjoy the serenity of waves crashing ashore... this is your place. It’s a perfect throwback to an era where screen time was not the priority and embracing the outdoors was. If I had to find a downside, which isn’t easy, I would say this property isn’t for folks looking for seclusion or privacy... it’s a very tight knit little community. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for quality time on the water.

Funky fun fishing cabin
This house is excellent for sitting and watching the waters of Puget Sound. The interior is very unique with a great bedroom looking right out at the view. A bit chilly in February because of all the windows. However, the beautiful view makes it worth every minute. The sea lions were playing right off our deck. The manager responded to our needs quickly.

Great place to truly getaway.
I loved staying at the cottage on the spit! It was the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and decompress. The location and views are incredible, you couldn’t be any closer to the ocean. Even saw a few sea lions playing while drinking coffee! The cottage was cozy, warm and accommodating. I loved the beachy feel. I will definitely be back!

Stunning Views on a Unique Spit
My friend and I who have been friends since we were 12 had a nice stay here. The views were amazing with all manner of boat and cargo ships, sea planes, seals and birds. The skyline is always changing and absolutely stunning. The only constructive feedback we have is that we spent a great deal of time at the kitchen table and sitting area and would prefer more comfortable furnishings. Also a rubber spatula and soup type ladle would be welcome, however we can easily bring those items. The beds and kitchen were cozy and well stocked. We loved the beach front and beach access. We were talking about coming back before we even left. Thank you so much, we enjoyed ourselves so much. It was wonderfully peaceful, quiet and provided the perfect setting to decompress and disengage from the digital world.

Perfect location, charming and artistic cottage
Remarkable historic cabin redone clean and fresh, contemporary lighting, stylish and comfortable furniture, outstanding book collection and artwork. Location on the spit is absolutely unique and amazing, wonderful to walk and observe. Beds & pillows are comfortable and plentiful, linens high quality, kitchen well-equipped. Highly recommend it, we enjoyed our stay very much and would return.
