Gorda Vista is located on a mountainside, surrounded by lushly forested jungle, overlooking Dominicalito Beach. At an altitude of 564ft above sea level it receives pleasant cooling breezes from both ocean and mountains.

It has been designed as the ideal vacation property making the most of it’s beautiful location and an outdoor living concept. It is perfect for a couple on a honeymoon, a romantic getaway or a family on an adventure vacation.

It is over 5 acres of completely private and secure paradise. You have the entire property to yourself, only having to share with the wildlife. Howler and white faced monkeys stop by regularly to eat from the surrounding trees. Toucans, hawks, hummingbirds, song birds, doves and butterflies are always nearby. To access our jungle villa there is a grand, electrically operated entrance gate within a 10 ft (3m) high security/privacy fence.

The 45-foot infinity edge lap pool has a wider area adjacent to the house which has a raised table and two tiled sunken chairs for you to relax in while sipping cocktails and watching the sun set into the ocean.

Gorda Vista was built and furnished to the highest specifications. The entire ground floor has been cleverly designed to integrate the pool, deck, rancho, covered terrace, kitchen and lounge into one outdoor living space. It can be easily changed into separate outdoor and indoor spaces by simply closing the large glass doors that are on two sides of the lounge wall.
The master bedroom has a large balcony with 2 deck chairs and a table to enjoy the best sunrise coffee you have ever experienced as you listen to the jungle “wake”. It also has 2 standing only balconies offering mountain and ocean views. It has air conditioning, kingsize bed, a large ensuite bathroom with a sandstone shower for two, his and hers sinks, separate toilet room and a ceiling fan. The second bedroom can be used for children or a couple as it has two single beds that can be placed together to make one kingsize bed. It has air conditioning, ceiling fan, ensuite bathroom and 2 standing only balconies with ocean views. There is also a comfortable twin-size day-bed on the terrace for those afternoon naps.
The location of our property will make your vacation easy. Stores, restaurants and amenities are only a few minutes drive away. The beach is safe for swimming and beginner surfing. There are a great variety of nearby tours, activities and adventures for all ages and levels of excitement. We will be happy to discuss all your options when you arrive.

Fantastic Stay

Stayed for 3 nights to experience a little bit of the Dominical area and the property was very beautiful and quiet. Had a fantastic stay relaxing pool side! We will definitely stay again when ever we are in the Dominical area!

Beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The grounds are kept so nicely with endless wildlife to watch. We loved hanging out in the pool and bird watching. The iguana that seems to reside on the grounds was a joy to see each day! The location was very convenient between Uvita and Dominical.There is some construction of a new home going on nearby so we could hear the workers during the day. Only recommendation would be to let the guests know when gardener/pool people would be coming as it was startling to have unexpected visitors.

My wife was stunned by the beauty of looking through the house to the view as we walked through the front door. The house was very well appointed and maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, the privacy, the view and the wildlife. Regular sightings of scarlet macaws and toucans. Howler monkeys in the trees on the edge of the property on a couple of days. We could hear the ocean and the streams that flowed through the property. The pool was wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. A key part of our amazing visit.

Fantastic stay

We loved staying here it was incredible. The open floor plan and the pool were dreamy. From the pool we watched monkeys and toucans go by and at night after grilling dinner we got back into the pool and saw shooting stars. The drive up and down the hill was not for the faint of heart but totally worth it and wonderful

Lovely stay in the Costa Rica jungle

Phantastic location

The house has a fantastic location and is beautiful. The outside area with the pool is fantastic. You are in the middle of the jungle, you can see toucans and other birds and hear the howler monkeys in the trees.

The pool of my Dreams!

We had a wonderful 3 week stay at Gorda Vista! We swam in the pool, read, ate great food & then did it again! We loved the little town of Dominical & ate at some yummy little restaurants. This was our third trip to Cost Rica & it didn’t disappoint!

Gorgeous property in amazing location

We have stayed at a lot of VRBO houses and I was skeptical that this one would live up to the amazing pictures - but it did and more! This is a beautiful house on an incredible property. Waking up with a view of the ocean, swimming in the private pool - my husband, kids, and I loved every minute of it. We saw monkeys, toucans, an iguana, tons of lizards, and even a sloth. The owner is very communicative and helpful. We would love to come back some day!

Gorda Vista was perfect!

We loved everything about this VRBO stay. Lovely view, easy check in, comfortable beds, privacy. Dominical is a quaint town with the friendliest ticos/ticas. We enjoyed the beach and the vendors and artists on the beach. My only disappointment is that we could not stay longer! Thank you to Lyle for all of the local recommendations.

Perfect and Private Getaway Home

This is an exceptional house in a remote and private area. The hosts were welcoming and responsive. The best feature of the home is the pool. It’s perfect for lounging and laps. We will definitely come again. Make sure to rent a 4x4 - the mile trip from the main road to the home climbs about 500 feet and can get pretty rough in the rain.

It was exactly as advertised if not better. After a 3-hour drive from San Jose, Doug and Janet were quick to get us checked in and into vacation mode…very much appreciated! The property manager, Lyle, is super friendly and responsive plus has great recommendations for food and activities; although we spent most of our time in the pool bird watching and listening to the howler monkeys. Highly recommend!

Luxury Villa

The Villa was as advertised with spectacular views of the jungle and ocean off in the distance. The rooms had A/C and kitchen was very well stocked. Very close to a major supermarket and many towns with excellent restaurants so you have the option of eating at home or going out. Everything was clean and in working order and the infinity pool was great. The property itself is very secure (large fence encloses the living area) and private (neighbors are hundreds of meters away).Going to sleep and waking to the sounds of the jungle was an otherworldly experience. Doug and Janet are very responsive, helpful and laid back. The concierge service offered via Juli was very helpful as well and she helped us plan our activities and stay. It's very well located and there is a ton to do in the area. You do need a 4x4 capable rental in Costa Rica and would suggest tire insurance.Overall, fantastic, smooth experience and would highly recommend to anyone

Gorgeous View!

We had an amazing 6 nights here. We were close to Uvita and Manuel Antonio which we wanted. The home is very comfortable and has everything you’re going to need. We swam in the beautiful pool twice a day. This was our second rental we stayed in during our time in Costa Rica. They also have a washer/dryer on site which we used and our other place didn’t have. The owners Doug and Janet were great with our every question. Oh and did I mention there’s a concierge service too?!

Wow! We love this villa!

The property is fantastic! Be sure to have a 4x4 to ensure safe travels, better to have a pick-up truck if you can. D and J are very hospitable, responsive, and respectable. The home is very clean and well appointed. The pool is just what you need. My wife and I travelled for our honeymoon and the seclusion of the mountain side is exactly what you need. We enjoyed all the noises of the animals, the stars at night, the sunrises and sunsets. The locality to fantastic food, excursions, and the highway. Please stay here! You won’t regret it.

Amazing property

My husband, myself and our 2 boys (11 & 9) have been visiting Costa Rica for several years. We've stayed in the Dominical/Uvita area for the past 3, and this has been our favorite house so far. The location is amazing, the house is very clean, and the pool is the largest we've experienced. We had such a great time listening to monkeys and toucans while drinking coffee in the morning. We visited a close by waterfall multiple times, our boys surfed for 3 days, we went to Reptilandia, went to several different beaches, had great meals at restaurants and at the house. This vacation was one of the best we've ever had. The hosts were great and showed us to the property upon arrival and were very responsive. We can't wait to return!

Beautiful home

This was a top notch house. There’s a reason why it’s all five star reviews. I loved every second of it. The living room can get a little hot since there is no AC due to the open air around the rooftop, but you can always open the sliders. I was just not wanting so many bugs in. So when I got too hot, I’d go sit by the lovely pool and be immediately cool. I saw monkeys, toucans, iguanas, the most beautiful hummingbirds I’ve ever seen in my life. Really spectacular. The owners and the manager are just fantastic. Great communication.

It's possible to rent a piece of heaven in Dominical, Costa Rica

The owners met us and personally went over details to know about the house. There was a security gate and fence. A Beautiful infinity pool overlooking jungle and ocean. The owners have a great eye for detail - lovely home and landscaped grounds. Fans and air conditioning in bedrooms. Howlers, toucans, scarlet rumped tanager, hummingbirds and cane toad seen around the property. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Better have a 4 wheel drive. Amazing house up the mountain with ocean view

Doug and Janet were great hosts. They were quick to respond with questions. They also met us at a local restaurant and led us up to the house. They also have Juli to be a concierge for your stay. She is amazing by scheduling excursions during your stay and was there when we could t find the location for an excursion by directing us and then calling the company to let them know we would be there. The house is the best of indoor/outdoor living . You can hear toucans and monkeys from the house. La Parcela restaurant was right down the road and we saw monkeys before we walked into the restaurant and even saw one in a tree right outside of the restaurant while eating. Food was delicious too. If you are wavering about booking this house, don’t be. We are already talking about our return trip. Pura vida!

Girls Trip

We had a wonderful stay here! The views are amazing and the sounds of nature are peaceful and enlightening. We wanted to know which bird or monkey was making all the sounds! There were two toucans that visited us every day and evening. The pool is so refreshing after a day of adventure. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. We had a private chef come to cook dinner for us one evening and it was an awesome experience! The surrounding area is quaint but perfect for what we were looking for. Thank you Doug and Janet for having us. A special thanks for showing us around the property late at night due to flight delays. You are so kind!
