Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Negative:
The building is old and the stairs little narrow.
Positive: The room was clean and it has Beautiful view.
The owner is friendly.
I only stayed one night, but the owners were very friendly and accommodating. Their b&B was so cute and comfortable. They really do go the extra mile to make sure their guests are well taken care of.
The service, friendliness and kindness of the team running Pension Carmen was absolutely outstanding. For this, I would definitely come back. They were clear in their communication and went above and beyond to be helpful. They also provided useful recommendations for the area. Very kind people.
I like the idea of their themed rooms, and they were well set up. (I happened to end up in the football room). Comfortable and spacious with nice little baclony overlooking a green space. Also, very clean.
There were a few niggly things with the room that were not as convenient. The mattress and pillows were not particularly good and the sink in the bathroom struggled to drain. Plus, sound travelled a lot through the house, so I felt cautious about putting on music or chatting on the phone.
That being said, I would definitely recommend Pension Carmen for a short term stay in Bad Hönningen. The team made me feel very welcome, and that's always a priority for me when traveling.
It's also walking distance to the train station!
Great location and very friendly hosts, we have spent three nigts at the hotel and had everything we needed. Maybe worth adding more flavours of tea in the room as there was only herbal and fruit tea bags in the tray, no black tea. There was also no cofffee or milk, but it wasn't a problem to ask for some, so we did. There was also no soap in the soap dispenser (ran out on the next day after our arrival) so we had to wash our hands with a shower gel for a day, as we forgot to ask. But it's best to ensure there are full soap dipensers in the rooms, so no need to ask.
Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay and would book again.

Why don’t the English speaking peoples of the world view Germany as a holiday destination? The Rhineland is the the equal of all the most beautiful places on Earth, equal to the Lake District, Cornwall, the West Coast of Ireland and the Highlands of Scotland! My hosts spoke perfect English and were incredibly kind to my boy who celebrated his 8th birthday there. This is a great place to stay, right in the middle of the Rhine, please visit Drachenfels like Lord Byron! Somewhere near here the Romans built a pontoon bridge 2000 years ago to show the Teutonic tribes they meant business! This is an historic and beautiful part of the world. And this hotel is the friendliest place I’ve ever stayed in Rheinland.
Booking any hotel or bed&breakfast you dont known is a gamble. Sometimes you overpay and sometimes like here you underpay.
This is a very nice place that is enormous value for the money. Two rooms and a nice balcony with a nice view, And the Japanese Shower with back massage was a nice extra touch.
