Staff went over and above to help us with any request. They booked us a great boat trip for the day. On our last day we had room service which was very easy, delicious and reasonably priced. The room was gorgeous and the views were amazing.
The staff was absolutely awesome. They made us feel so welcome. Extra thanks to Marcos, Dona, Hannah, Veneta, the kitchen staff, cleaners, and the friendly maintenance guy. The rooms were good, the food excellent and the perfect location

Nice hotel with good location. The shower was either hot or cold, which was a bit annoying.
I've lived in Mexico for 3 years and this is the best hotel we've stayed at. So much attention to detail and I loved the small size of the hotel. The private rooftop and plunge pool were a great extra. Food was amazing, beds were comfortable, everything was perfect. I won't stay anywhere else!
Bacalari Hotel is located in a very convenient area. Very close to Lake Bacalar. Around the corner, there's a cafe that sells great coffee and breakfast items. If you're a walker, you can walk to the main square - at the most 1.5 miles where you'll find a nice park, Fort San Felipe Bacalar and museum and lots of restaurants and shopping opportunities.
Amazing property! The rooms, the design, the view, everything is great!
One of the reception staff (with short hair) was very nice but the rest was rather cold which felt a bit odd.
The pool is great, however pool staff allows guests to smoke (weed) in the pool which would put off some of the guests. A shame really but we had overall a great time.
Hidden gem! This place was perfect! We had a room with a private rooftop terrace with a great view of the lagoon. It was awesome for hanging out and enjoying late night drinks. It had a small cold plunge pool too. The lagoon is a quick 2 minute walk. It was 20 pesos per person to hang out/swim by the dock all day. They have easy, safe parking at the hotel. The town square/restaurants are within walking distance. Iscream Bar is the best! The hotel bed was amazing! Room was equipped with AC, hot water, TV, coffee, water, and the onsite pool was so cool! We will definitely go back!
I was here for about a week and had an excellent stay in one of the double rooms. If you're also someone who values quiet, this is absolutely where you should look in Bacalar. The pool has a perfect view over the lagoon at sunrise and sunset and is minutes from a great swimming spot and the gorgeous ecological park. I was originally worried it would be far from restaurants and the central launch point for a lot of the boat activities, but the longest I ever had to walk was 20 minutes (most things within 10), and cabs are also always an option. The AC in the room worked well and we also liked having a little patio outside. It was very easy to get water every day so no need to buy bottles and the staff were delightful and helpful. The pool is just the right size for relaxing when it gets hot or for watching the stars at night. The restaurant is a solid choice and provided coffee was good quality. I prefer a slightly softer bed, but these were very much in line with what is average in Mexico. Overall, this is a great choice if you prefer to be a little more removed from the party and closer to nature.
We were sad to leave Bacalari Boutique Hotel. Vanessa, Hannah, Dana, Oscar, Eric and last but not least Marco who were all such lovely welcoming and helpful staff who made our stay so special.
The location and staff were fantastic! The view from our rooftop was perfect. Room service, friendly and accomodating staff, delicious food! Everything was perfect!
Spent 2 nights at Bacalari. First night everything went well. Second night not so well. Left the lake at sunset to get back to my room to shower and the water completely stop working in the room 3 minutes into my shower. No shower, no faucet, no
The location was perfect. It was a very close walk to the lagoon and to many restaurants and town centre.
Front desk staff told us there was nothing nearby but that is not correct.
Not an option for anyone that has mobility issues.
The restaurant didn’t serve lunch and had many things unavailable for dinner.
