"This is a uniquely situated, rustic property, run by lovely people. You will get a real experience of deep Morocco in the High Atlas if you visit. The area is incredibly beautiful. A magical experience. But be aware - this hotel is situated off road. To get here you will need a high clearance SUV if conditions are good. If they are not, a 4x4. Punctures are likely, so make sure you have a spare, and can change a wheel. If it snows, you may not be able to get there (or back) at all. There is a...

Caravan Agafay by Our Habitas

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing food and good vibes all around"

KASBAH D'IF

8/10 Good

"Beautiful property, but the service needs significant improvement. We stayed for three nights in September. Kasbah D’If is stunning, peaceful and beautifully located away from the city. The pool and spa were lovely, and I particularly enjoyed my prenatal massage. The staff were generally friendly and, when managers became involved, extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the overall service and organisation did not feel five-star. We booked a cooking class a week in advance, but on arrival it seemed nobody was expecting us. There was no common language with the chef and it took 45 minutes to find a translator. The class became more of a demonstration due to the limited kitchen space, and basic things such as offering water were overlooked. When I became dizzy from the heat, the staff kindly found me a chair and fruit. The manager handled our concerns very well, waived the cost and gave us the food. There were several other avoidable issues: I ordered Champagne but was initially served flat Prosecco; I was directed to the men’s bathroom at breakfast; and we waited 15 minutes at reception for a tour before being told the English-speaking staff member had not arrived. On arrival at 10pm, a bedside plug was not working and required an engineer, while the AC could only be controlled from reception. The property is genuinely special, but attention to detail, communication and organisation currently fall short of five-star standards so at this stage we wouldn’t consider returning."

Kalyptus Luxury Camp

10/10 Excellent

"The staff were incredible. The food amazing. The rooms super comfortable and great. The property was so peaceful and they were willing to help at every turn. Even free laundry which was a necessity at this point in our travels. All the delicate clothes came back in perfect condition. The starts were some of the brightest we have ever seen. It was a little slice of heaven. Very reasonably priced on all accords. Highly recommended."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Azgour?

The best area to stay in Azgour is within the Kasbah, which offers a secluded and authentic Moroccan experience.

The Kasbah is a historic fortress that has been beautifully restored, providing a tranquil retreat. It's characterised by its traditional architecture, quiet courtyards, and gardens. While it feels wonderfully remote, it's still conveniently located for exploring the High Atlas Mountains.

For couples seeking a romantic and secluded escape, the Kasbah is ideal. You'll find luxurious accommodations with private terraces and stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. The focus here is on relaxation, exceptional service, and enjoying the natural beauty of the region.

Families will also find the Kasbah a good fit, particularly those with older children who appreciate culture and outdoor activities. Many of the larger suites and villas offer ample space, and the peaceful environment provides a break from busier destinations.

When is the best time to go to Azgour?

The best time to visit Azgour, Marrakech, is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the bustling souks and historic sites of Marrakech without the intense heat of summer or the cooler evenings of winter. You'll find it comfortable for day trips into the Atlas Mountains as well.

Couples often find these seasons superb for a romantic getaway, as the milder weather allows for leisurely strolls through the Jardin Majorelle or enjoying a rooftop dinner overlooking the city. The clear skies and comfortable temperatures are also excellent for activities like hot air balloon rides, offering stunning views of the desert and mountains.

For those planning an adventure in the Atlas Mountains, such as hiking or exploring traditional Berber villages, spring and autumn provide the best conditions. The trails are well-maintained, and the landscapes are particularly scenic, with fewer crowds than in peak summer.
