"We had a great week. The villa is very spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The large pool is fantastic, a real plus. We enjoyed a couple of our days just lounging around and in the pool. The location was generally very quiet and peaceful. There are a couple of local restaurants within around 15-20 minutes walk and lots more on the coast within a 10-15 minute drive. Gabriele was very helpful and welcoming. You must have a car, but with one everything is within easy reach and Isla Cristina has good supermarkets. We visited some local beaches on the coast between Isla Canela and Isla Cristina and there are livelier/quieter sections to suit your preferences. We also really enjoyed the experience of the magnesium baths down the road (over 12s only) Ayamonte is understated and in a lovely position on the river estuary and has a very pleasant central area if you dive into the small streets on foot. We also took a longer but worthwhile trip into Portugal, visiting the interesting and pretty town of Tavira after some time on the wide and open Praia Barril ( park up quite early to avoid parking stress and then it’s reached by a little railway over the salt marshes) An interesting contrast to the local beaches in Isla Cristina. The villa suited us very well and was excellent value for money and we really enjoyed our week. "
