Country Inn Walker

"The location is excellent!! Walker is a great city. The Country Inn is showing its age. The sink in our suite’s barroom had marks on it that looked unclean, but probably was a result of cigarette or burn damage from years ago. The lighting in the king suite room was insufficient. One small lamp. The bathtub/hydro tub was super tall which seniors can’t navigate safely. This hotel in today’s world needs an elevator to the second floor. The concrete and parking lot are showing their age. We paid a high rate for both nights, and have stayed here years ago on two occasions. The property is in decline like all older structures."

"If you love fishing, meeting new people, and a completely unique interactive host experience, then this is your place. We had a complete blast from start to finish. Randy and Shannon are THEE best charter/fishing guides I have ever experienced. We caught 61 fish in 2 and a half hours!!! You have to experience the best fish fry you can ever have!!! My only regret is we had to leave. Best fishing and best people ever! My absolute best regards to the Admiral and Captain!!!! Can't wait to see you again!!!"

Private, Exclusive Lodge on Woman Lake with Beautiful Views

"This is a beautiful home with fantastic waterfront on a clear, deep and quiet lake. We love to swim and the swim area at the end of the dock is nice hard sand, about 4 feet deep, with no weeds and crystal clear water. You do need to cross a band of rocks in the shallow water to get there. Most of us wore water shoes to cross over and then took them off and put them on the dock while swimming. It's also a pretty steep trail down to the water - not for anyone with mobility issues, but nicely done with flat stone steps much of the way. The lake view is really beautiful from the house and decks.We also enjoyed taking the kayaks out for paddles around Horseshoe Island, watching movies in the movie theater, playing video games on the arcade cabinet, making smores in the fire pit, playing outdoor ping pong, and playing board and card games both inside the lodge and outside on the extensive patios and decks. The kitchen has anything you could possibly need and the rooms and beds were comfortable. The bunk room beds are on the short side but a really fun room for kids. Nearest grocery is only 15 minutes away and definitely a full-service, big store even though the Longville is pretty small. Owner was responsive to questions and helped us. This is definitely a personal home rather than a commercial investment property so expect meticulous instructions and plan to take extra care of it. It's really lovely."
