This Cabin is within a short walking distance of the Beach on Lake Superior and the AuTrain River. Spend some time relaxing on the Beach or swim in the warm water of the River where it empties into the Lake. This location is perfect for a home base of all of the local attractions this area has to offer. Within 15 minutes you are in Munising where you can do the Pictured Rocks cruise, Shipwreck Tour or Kayak tour and many more. Munising is the start of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and there's days worth of activities there and the surrounding area. See over a dozen waterfalls all within 30 minutes from the Cabin.

The cabin is done completely in custom woodwork. As you enter, you'll see the homemade barn doors for bedrooms and hallway closets. As you walk past, you will enter the main living area that is all an open concept and all done in custom woodwork. There's locally sourced Hemlock walls and homemade rustic cabinets. The Kitchen is part of the open concept that is perfect for anyone who likes to cook. With a central stove and counter area, the cook can engage with the other group members as they sit around the bar that goes around the kitchen or watch TV while they cook. In the corner of the cabin is a homemade wet bar, (no liquor, SORRY!) The main bathroom is large and has a custom steel shower, the other bathroom is in the back off the laundry room and has a full size tub and shower. In the bedrooms, one has a king, the other has a queen and the 3rd bedroom has a full on bottom and twin on top for sleeping accommodations for 7. All of the 3 bedrooms have smart TV's.

Included in your stay is a gas flat top with propane, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and softener as well as coffee filters for our regular drip coffee maker. We don't provide toiletries. All bedding, towels and linens provided.

Out back is a fenced in yard with a covered patio with table, chairs and flattop grill. Also a fire pit area and chairs for sitting provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy the fire, outdoors, each other and the stars..... For pet owners, there's a pen area with a door to the cabin.

We're confident you will enjoy this cabin and the area as we have for years!

Great location for near by attractions

We enjoyed this cabin as a great place to return after a long day of hiking and sight seeing. It was well maintained and offered a very relaxing atmosphere.

Winter getaway

The property and location were both wonderful. The kitchen was well supplied and made making several meals there easy. The hot tub was great for enjoying the scenery and relaxing.

Winter wonderland

My husband & i stayed here for our anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better place. It felt like home to us! A huge kitchen with all things necessary to cook a delicious dinner, a cozy living room to sit by the fire and watch a movie while seeing the snow fall, the bed is so comfy too! If you are looking for a place that feels like home and is within walking distance to Lake Superior, look no more!

We absolutely loved our stay.

This was our first vrbo booking. Our stay was amazing and this property was amazing also. Property has so much room to move about and I cannot think of one thing that wasn't available to us, this place is very well equipped with everything you need! We will definitely stay again either this summer or next snowmobile season.

Kayaking trip

We had a great time at the cabin while doing a pictured rocks paddle tour nearby. We also took a kayak trip down the Au Train river, kayak rentals available just across the street and they provide a shuttle. Cabin was perfect for 4 adults, huge TV was perfect for watching the Olympics! Outside space was nice too.

Perfect Location!

Neat lodging in a perfect location! Great for heading east to Munising and west to Marquette. Lots to do in both directions! The space was perfect for six people, and we loved the fenced space for our dogs. The owner is very easy-going. We would definitely return! Thanks!

Perfect spot easy walk to beach

The sunset at the beach a couple blocks away was perfect. We love this area and will be back. We could love off whitefish. Easy drive to Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Marquette is a little further but also an easy drive. Everything we needed was at the Cabin. Modern and wonderful. Thank you.

Da Au Train Cabin

Close to all of the area attractions. Roomy with modern appliances. Comfortable king bed. Nice fenced in yard for your dog. Only 3 blocks from the Au Train beach. Cory was quick to respond to questions.

Great winter stay

Great place, 6 of us stayed to snowmobile, right on the trail large driveway for parking and trailers. 3 rooms was good for 3 couples. Quite town but the store across the street had everything you would need, food, drinks, gas, apparel. Quick ride or drive to Munsing 45min drive to Marquette. We got to tour the area more than we wanted since there was no snow but enough around to keep busy!

Great place!

This was the perfect place for my family and I to stay while we crossed something off our bucket list- kayaking on Lake Superior! We were only a 15 minute drive from where the guide service was in Munising. The cabin had everything we needed and so much more. The fenced-in yard was great for our dogs. The beautiful beach was a very short walk away, and the grocery store just up the road had a great selection of items if you forget anything. The hosts were very quick to respond anytime we had a question. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Great Location, Nice Stay

Despite the weather being fall like in August, we enjoyed our stay at da Au Train Cabin! The location was great - within walking distance to the beach, a small grocery store and restaurant. Close to Munising, Pictured Rocks and lots of waterfalls and hiking. The cabin was, well a cabin. Rustic is maybe a good word to describe it, but the beds and couches were comfy. We did not get to enjoy the outdoor space much due to the weather. The yard would have been great if we had brought our dogs.

Great place, great trip

The place is just as listed. Cool open concept. It was my partner and our two dogs and the fenced in yard was perfect for them and felt private for us. This would be a great stay with friends. The open concept kitchen, game table and back yard patio/grill/fire pit seems perfect for a group. Close to Munising but a nice grocery right up the street. My tip would be to bring blankets or dog beds if you are bringing your pups. Cory was responsive to questions and we had a vey relaxing, short getaway. Thanks again Cory!

UP getaway

The property was as described. Appreciated timely communication and ability for an early checkin with management. Overall, inside could have been better deep cleaned. Kitchen photos show great open concept but if cooking, it’s a bit impractical. No real counter area near sinks for prep. Microwave is reachable only for a very tall person or with a step ladder. The numerous dishes, pots, etc and the use of the grill was nice. Being dog friendly was a plus for us. Thanks!

Comfortable Man Cave

Well decorated and comfortable place. Great access to Lake Superior and surrounding attractions (water falls, lighthouses). First thoughts were "man cave", don't take that in a bad way, but if you're into partying...maybe you can add to the Jack Daniels collection...lol. Some things need some attention. Main bathroom shower handles took that "just the right touch" to get them to turn off. Some of the faucets were loose and need to be tightened up. But those are really minor things. Overall, we were very satisfied with this property. Dog Friendly Too!
