As you round the shoreline, the stretching waterfront landscape will catch your eye as you approach the parking lot directly in front of the lodge (Yes! There is ample space for a trailer!). You will use a keyless lock system to enter your cabin.

Open your door and you are already on the ground level of your new place! You will be instantly greeted with the aroma of pine which is visible in the tongue and groove walls and ceiling as well as an instant sight of north facing windows capturing a stunning view of the Portage Canal. What you will find on second look is a comfortable queen bed around the corner and many beautifully crafted pieces of cedar, Amish made furniture.

Traverse the stairs to the third floor and you will find a cozy loft with four more bedrooms, two of which have double queen bunk beds. This cabin accommodates up to fourteen adults!

Each of our hand made, custom milled, northwoods cabins boast a three story duplex including a ground level, garden style unit and an upstairs double decker terrace style unit. The cabin size in total is 2,500 square feet! (550 and 1,950 square feet respectively). They all include full kitchens and washer/dryer units for your convenience and utility.

Walk out the back door onto your balcony and embrace the jaw dropping, sweeping beauty of the Keweenaw Waterway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Whatever your needs may be: Visiting Michigan Tech, snowmobiling (the Bill Nichols trail is only .25 miles from the resort!), swimming at the beach, or skiing (Mont Ripley is less than 2 miles from the resort), we offer a comfortable, comprehensive resort experience for you.

Houghton Fun

We held a family get together at this property and it was perfect!! There is room for large groups, with all the amenities of home, with beds and bathrooms for all. The property was very clean and well maintained. Will definitely be back!

Perfect for a group of couples!

We do an annual side by side trip. We have a group of 5 couples. These accommodations were perfect. It was very nice that evey room had its own bathroom!!

MTU winter carnival

Loved the cleanliness above all, but it was all so perfect! Double refrigerators were a nice bonus, all electronics plug in were a great touch , very close to Houghton, beautiful view, lots of parking, and loved loved loved bathrooms for each of the 5 bedrooms! So many amenities! Will love to return here.

Graduation

Stayed here for my son’s graduation. Normally stay at the Hampton Inn but it was booked as were all hotels in the area. Found this on VRBO.Happily surprised upon arriving at the property. Very clean and roomy cabin. Had all the comforts of home you would need..from charge cords in each bedroom, to Kleenex in each bathroom, liquid hand soap at every sink, good TP and detergent and dish soap. The views from the deck never get old… from sunset to sunrise. We had 6 adults and were very comfortable in and around kitchen/ large table…. And living area. Would definitely recommend this place if you are coming to Houghton with a large group. Within 5-7 minutes of everything.

Great property and location

We had a large group of 3 families. Adults and teenagers. This property was ideal and everything is brand new. Checking in and out was incredibly simple. Communication with the host was top notch. Each of the 4 upstairs bedrooms had access to a private bath. This was perfect to provide a bit of privacy for everyone. The great room and kitchen set-up was perfect to host a larger group. The bathrooms were stocked with ample towels. The kitchen was incredibly well supplied (not always the case in my experience). The internet was awesome, which was concerning with a larger group. Great views from the balcony overlooking the water. All in all, highly recommended.
