Family villa in historic region of Assisi

Step into history in this beautiful villa/estate family owned for generations and recently restored. Our apartment had well appointed kitchen/dining room, sitting area, and separate very comfortable (firm) bed in small but adequate bedroom. Each room also has access to a personal outdoor terrace area for relaxing while enjoying the beautiful well-maintained property and the Umbrian hills. Swimming pool is large and beautifully maintained. Tennis court and barbecue area. Breakfast is generous and is served in a lovely room with beautiful ancient wooden carved decoration. Special amenity: In each room there is an extensively researched notebook of 20 local itineraries written by the owner's father, with historical topics beautifully woven into the description of the stops, maps, description of local points of interest, duration of the itinerary, and distance. These are clearly identified as walking itineraries or car /bike with excellent instructions. This includes itineraries to some Umbrian and Tuscan cities within about 150km, but most are closer. We used them daily during our stay to plan our activities. While hiking feel the presence of history, walking on paths known to have been used by St. Francis himself. Raffaela is warm, energetic, creative and responsive to visitor's queries. She speaks excellent English. Location is about 5km outside Assisi, but very easy to access. Car needed. We will return.

Pace e tranquillità

Esperienza 100% positiva. Luogo spelndido, isolato ma con un ottimo ristorante a 2 minuti di auto. Struttura molto bella (ovviamente in inverno non si può usare la piscina stagionale, quindi non posso dare giudizi su quella). Personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Ottima e abbondante colazione, unico appunto è solo dolce, non c'è salato. Nota: in zona il cellulare non prende, per i dati c'è il wi-fi della struttura.

We wanted to stay here in between traveling from Venice to Rome. We loved the place and added an extra day because the staff was so accommodating and welcoming.

Beautiful Views - Pleasant Stay

We stayed at Villamena 2 nights. We received an email from Rafaella the day before we arrived. She gave us perfect directions from Piazza Matteotti. Here directions led us right to the gate of Villamena. She showed us our room and gave us all the information we needed for our visit to Assisi the next day. The villa we had was 3 floors - my 15 year old had the third floor with the terrace. It was beautiful. Our bedroom on the 2nd floor was very comfortable and although there was no airconditioning it was not needed with the windows open and the beautiful cool nights. We only stayed 2 nights but my teenage sons would have liked to have stayed a week. The pool was great, they played tennis and had a soccer field. There was a laundry facility on the premise which my wife utilized to catch up with our 3 weeks laundry. It was just beautiful.

Beautiful Surrounding and a nice Respite

Our short stay at Villa Mena was wonderful! We drove to Villa Mena from Florence with a short visit in Sienna. The owner send us an email telling us how to get to the property from Piazza Matteo in Assisi. This was a huge help!! When we arrived, she showed us the Villa and we relaxed in the beautiful shadow of Mt. Subiaci. She recommended a great restaurant down the road that has a small store to buy some supplies. The pool was great, my sons enjoyed playing tennis on the nice tennis court, and my wife begrudgingly did laundry in the provided laundry room. It was a great stay and the price was perfect.

Beautiful property!

This place was amazing! The room was very clean and comfortable, the view is spectacular, and the staff will give you all the info you need to explore asissi and other towns in Umbria. We'll be back!!

Alla scoperta dell'Umbria

Abbiamo pernottato per 3 notti durante il ponte del 2 giugno. La struttura è immersa nel verde con splendidi panorami sulle colline intorno ad Assisi, e dalla stessa Assisi dista solo 5km. La proprietaria è stata gentilissima e la camera era molto grande e confortevole. Per gli sportivi è un paradiso con campo da Tennis, Calcetto, Piscina e tanto spazio per fare attività all'aperto. In camera troverete una guida dell'Umbria scritta dal padre della proprietaria che vi farà buttare via qualsiasi altra guida, molto pratiche le copie per gli ospiti che si possono portare in giro. Ci è dispiaciuto andare via perchè il posto ha un atmosfera magica!
