About this property
Beautiful Pet friendly cottage by the Stow Ferry
Now accepting month to month renters until June 1. 1500/month includes utilities and snow removal.
Located within walking distance to the historic Stow Ferry and minutes from Bemus Point this is definitely the sweet spot on Chautauqua Lake. You are a few minutes away from Bemus point (the most popular town on the lake), the Institute, and beautiful Lakewood. Across the street is Hogans hut the largest bait and convenience store on the lake. This is the perfect spot to unwind on the lake and be minutes away from Chautauqua counties major attractions
This is a 4 season 2-bedroom cottage with an additional queen pull out bed that will comfortably sleep 8, and can accommodate up to 3 cars. This is a fully furnished home that has two bedrooms upstairs with a king bed, 2 queens in the other bedroom, and a pull-out queen in the living room. Upstairs has window air conditioners. The house has a full-size washer and dryer, and fully equipped kitchen. You have high speed internet and a Roku TV with YouTube TV, Netflix, Amazon prime, and Disney Plus . I have installed an air cleaning system that will remove pollen and all viruses including COVID 19 from the heating system. You are 5 minutes from Bemus Point (via the stow ferry or the 86 bridge), the Chautauqua Institute, Prendergast boat launch (largest free launch on the lake), and Long Point state park. Mayville, Jamestown and Lakewood are very close by so you'll have lots of restaurants and entertainment options on and off the lake. There is a private fire pit and seating for 6 (the fire wood can be purchased at hogan's hit and many other road side stands). There is a nature trail within walking distance that brings lots of wildlife to the property, and you’ll have access to outdoor seating and a large shared lot for outdoor fun (front house is also a VRBO I own). You are a two-minute walk from Hogan’s hut the largest tackle and convenience store on the lake!! Here you can get all your fishing gear, firewood, great coffee, subs, and soft serve ice cream! Just sit back, relax, and enjoy everything Chautauqua Lake has to offer!!
There are two houses on the property the front house (Jack) and the back house your renting on this listing (Jill) both have individual fire pits, seating areas, and a shared firepit for social groups and large gatherings. There is one neighbor to the side and no other neighbors nearby. The driveway is 2 cars wide and very long so there should be plenty of parking. There is a large side yard you are free to use just be respectful of the property, and the shared access with the neighbors up front.

House could use a good house cleaning! House was acquitted for our stay. Neighbor in back made a lot of noise. Was very convenient for our stay to get to places!House was pet friendly which was good. Would consider staying again!
Overall, the house was very nice. King bed was very comfortable. Not much in the area other than the ferry. No easy access to the water. Kitchen was nice but bring your own cookware if you like to cook, pots and pans and utensils we're not great. Also, the water there has a slight sulfury taste and smell, so bring drinking water.
Just what we needed as fisherman! Basically across the street from the bait/tackle shop and great location to access all parts of the lake. Would definitely stay again.
The location is very convenient, very close to the Stowe Ferry and right off I-86 on Chautauqua Lake on the west side of the bridge. The house was clean and the beds comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We stayed here to see the eclipse The clouds broke just in time for totality The location was great It was just a short car ride to Bemus Point and Jamestown The Comedy Museum was a lot of fun
The General Store was a short walk and had great subs and it was an easy walk to the lake
What a comfortable, welcoming home away from home. Super clean and bright. Quiet street. Loved the fireplace to cozy up to after a walk in the snow. Great communication with owners. We will be back.
Traveled here for my dads 62nd birthday! He loves fishing. This property was so BEAUTIFUL..it was in the prefect location and really well kept. The Host provide addition household items..(coffee.condiment) and there were plenty of resources around to meet our needs. WOULD STAY AGAIN AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
A nice house in a nice location. It was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was well stocked with towels. Beds were very comfortable. Private yard that backs up to a wooded area. Host communicated well. Parking was adequate overall, but is shared with another rental owned by the same host. If both units are in use and you have more than one vehicle you would have to park end to end on one side of the drive potentially requiring a little shuffling. We stayed there in April, and the price was very reasonable, at least for the off season. We would definitely stay here again.
House is nice. Beds are rather comfortable. The only problem is the kitchen supplies aren’t the greatest. The skillets there is only 2 and one of them is all rusted and the other is all chipped. No bigger pans either had to run to the store to get a pot to make spaghetti in.
Dan & Melinda,
Thanks for allowing "us" at your cottage. We had a company event and had booked several places in Bemus and yours was one of them. I personally was not in your cottage whatsoever, but heard from others. They said it was clean and that all was good. Thank You!
