The house is beautiful, clean & spacious. The view, the ranch and location are stunning and only few minutes away from Weaverville downtown. The owner is nice & timely in communicating as well as with accommodation. This is an excellent place to stay if you’re looking for a beautiful & safe getaway with your family! We loved our stay!!
Some friends and I stayed at this wonderful Vrbo while we were exploring Asheville. The place was about 15 minutes from the grove park and very close to downtown. We went hiking off of the blue ride parkway which was very close. The horses were so fun to see and feed carrots to every morning! The house layout is perfect. The beds are extremely comfortable. The house was so clean and VERY nicely decorated. The master bathroom is amazing with a HUGE closet. The 2 living room areas are awesome, we enjoyed watching football one night and the TV service was great. They even had Netflix in the bedrooms. The kitchen contains everything you need for cooking; in fact we made breakfast every morning. I did not notice this on the listing, but the basement contains a set of bunk beds in a cute and cozy room all made up and ready to go which would be perfect for kids! An added plus was us able to have our dogs, which completely made our stay. Would definitely return and I’ve even recommended this place to many others traveling to the Asheville area.
Wow! When I tell you this stay was everything we dreamed of and more, I'm not exaggerating. We drove up to this beautiful farm and couldn't believe this was where we'd call home for our stay. We parked and immediately ran to the horses who very very quickly found a spot in our hearts. We fell in love and they were the first place we went in the morning and always had to say good night before bed.
The house is gorgeous, comfortable and special. Not your cookie cutter home, it is full of such charm and warmth. It is located about 20 minutes outside of Asheville in a very cute town. It allowed quiet and peacefulness, but also easy access to Asheville.
Frank was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was magical. He was generous with his time and horses. We are beyond grateful.
My only regret is that we didn't stay longer, in fact I looked to see if it was available for our road trip home before we even left. We will be back, I have no doubt about that. Five stars!
This property really made our trip special. It was such a relaxing and serene environment that provided us with our own little oasis of beauty and comfort. We spent hours sitting on the front porch and the screened in porch. And the best part of everyday was spending time with the horses. I would wake up at sunrise each day just to go out and say good morning to them and take pictures of them and the sunrise over the mountains. It was a special experience building a bond with them over the week long stay and getting to know their personalities. At the same time, the farm was close to everything we wanted to do during our week long stay. We found so many great restaurants and shops in Weaverville that were close, convenient and wonderful -several we went to more than once. And, at the same time, we often popped into Asheville for a few hours for activities (like the Biltmore, galleries, Drum Circle) and dining and were then quickly back at our little retreat with the gorgeous views, ample and beautifully decorated space and comfy beds (we all agreed we did not miss our own beds and slept great at the farm with its wonderful mattresses and hotel quality linens). We even took some day trips to various places like Grandfather Mountain, Mt Mitchell and the Soco Waterfall which were all close enough to our rental to make the trips a fun adventure for the day but an easy drive back to serenity of the farm house. We all were so sad to leave this wonderful place and the beautiful horses. We are already talking about when we might be able to come again. It’s a very special place and I couldn’t recommend it more. We are so grateful to Frank and his family for sharing this magical place with us. ❤️
We had a lovely two-day stay here. The property is quiet and has absolutely stunning views of the farm and surrounding area. The house is large and comfortable. Definitely recommend this place for a family getaway!
The close to 40-acre, multi-building property is a movie-set quality gem, clean, quiet, manicured, it looks and smells pretty. Once there, you are in your own world.
Quite the rare find. To begin with, I don't think I've ever been to a farm or horse farm cleaner than this one, inside and outside. And having owned, visited, and stayed at several farms you can rely on that. If you are a clean freak, this is the place for you. The attention to detail shows in all things big and small. Somebody loves this place.
The main house itself has been very tastefully restored and renovated. Every space, item, furnishing, and fixture inside and outside is clean, fresh, and feels well treated or new. The kitchen and bathrooms are new. All the bedding, pillows and towels seem brand new.
It is particularly suited for two couples, or for a family up to 6-8. But it is quite multi-generational as well. Each age can enjoy the combination of features here, from toddlers, children, teens, young, middle-aged, and senior adults.
The check-in and check-out process, as well as the communication with property owner-manager is seamless, friendly, and helpful. You never hear a noise, no one is intrusive, the property is huge, so you rarely see others not in your party. They are there on a moment’s notice if you have a question, need something or some help. Even the horses are nice.
I find the online listing, photos, and descriptions accurate, and the excellent reviews here well deserved.
I would say the only miniscule matter, and it is completely insignificant once you get to the property, is a small slice of the neighborhood. Both location and neighborhood are as good as it gets, but unfortunately anywhere mountain rural has little if any zoning. That means you will find a rare diamond like this in proximity to a lump of coal. The last few yards on the road proximate to the property are very "NC Rural". That property is not related to this property, just in the hood. That's the way it is, so we chose to find that "NC open air museum of authentic yet rusting farming equipment & artifacts" charming. On the other hand, that contrast will remind you how good you have it on Brookside Country Retreat and Horse Farm.
Overall... If you like nature, animals, clean air, nice people, peace and quiet, a hassle-free experience, this special place is well worth your consideration.
House is in great shape, very clean and the layout worked great for our family of 5. Fantastic Property, lots to explore and great fun feeding and petting the horses!
Our family absolutely loved every moment of our week long stay at this serene mountain horse farm! The house is gorgeous and has so much to offer with its multiple porches and mountain views. The interior is beautifully decorated and is stocked with everything you need! Visiting the horses daily was an added special treat to our experience! And being able to bring our family dog was just icing on the cake!
Frank is a wonderful host who makes you feel right at home and goes out of his way to ensure your stay is perfect!
The location is ideal for exploring the Asheville area! We will definitely be back and cannot recommend this charming place enough!
This was a great, unique spot that was beautiful and enjoyable for our small group. Everything was as described and the host was very easy to communicate with. Thanks!
