The hotel is well kept and comfortable. As other's pointed out, the parking is at first hard to find. There is an underground garage on site but you have to ring a bell on an overly complicated post with no instructions. When I arrived, no one answered so I parked in the street and walked around the front in the rain. After check-in though, it wasn't a problem. There is a good restaurant within and a fairly good breakfast buffet. Easy walking distance to numerous restaurants and sites. Recommended.

Bastion is a very nice and simple hotel in Arnhem. I like the hotel is clean and most of the people are nice. What I don't like: no TV English programs, there is nothing I could watch on TV, and another strange thing is the parking gate it can be only open by the hotel staff, instead of being able to be open with the room key. On my last stay the hotel manager was rude with me and disrespectful. The hotel manager tone of voice and attitude were not polite. She made me feel unwelcomed.

Great stay in Arnhem
Bastion is a nice hotel right in the city center with easy access to the pedestrian areas, the market and the river. Plenty to do and see close by. Very friendly staff all around. Great spacious room.

Very convenient location
Very friendly and helpful staff, car park a little difficult to find (off a side road at the back) but secure. Convenient for sightseeing and eating out. Excellent cooked to order omelettes available as part of breakfast.

Great hotel!!
Unbelievably good value for money. My room was modern, spacious, well equipped and clean. My evening meal was excellent. I had the Schnitzel which was delicious. And the best bit - was the service. Everybody was friendly and very helpful.

The staff put in one of the four rooms on the fifth floor. The clerk keyed our room card incorrectly, so we had to return to the lobby and swap 2 elevators to go up. Only given 1 keycard. Hairs on our comforter. Only 2 coffee machine pods. No bath mat for a shower without a door. The room was otherwise ok. Water hot.

The bad: There were blood stains in my duvet which unfortunately I did not notice til the next day. The stain was hidden on the insie of the foot end of the bed. I had additional concerns with cleanliness but could not overlook blood.... when I brought it to the attention of the staff at check-out, showing them pictures and video both of the blood and other hygienic concerns , they did not apologize. They said they could offer me a beverage as compensation. It ses the room wasnt cleaned and thats a basic expectation when paying for a hotel room so i expected more than that, at bare minimum apology. I was planning originally to stay several nights but decided to check out and switch hotels. I was upset by the lack of response or concern on the part of the staff. Other negatives- no microwave Tv only had a few channels ie 4-5 that worked. The mini fridge did not work. The air quality was terrible. The room in general was dated. The good: one woman working night staff was very kind amd helpful. The rooms are spacious. The location is convenient.

Do not stay here.
Very unsafe shower. Slippery floor, no grab bars. Revolving door at entrance stopped when I was in it, and hit my wife in face, drawing blood. No tissue in room at all. No description of TV channels, and no news in English.

Comfortable, quiet hotel.
Nice comfortable hotel, good value for the money. My only complaint, and its an odd one, was that they were stingy about shampoo. They had tiny vials of shampoo, and they didn't restock them when they serviced the room. Otherwise the experience was great!

Nice hotel near St Eusebius church
Very happy with this hotel. Had a small problem with the room when I first arrived but it was taken care of promptly. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Hotel Bastion May 2022
Cannot fault the hotel staff, very friendly and efficient. Only downside is that there kitchens are not open in the weekend evenings for meals. Fortunately there are many fine restaurants and cafes nearby.

Our room was nice and spacious, the breakfast was really good, there was a market around the corner we went to Saturday morning and the river was across the street. We went on a lovely stroll down there.

After a long flight, and arriving at the hotel, we had to wait 30mins for someone to come to reception to check us in. Various people in the bar, and eventually two members of staff arrived at once, but this was disappointing- we wanted to get to sleep. There were 6 people in the restaurant/bar but no staff.

This hotel was so welcoming and friendly . Large rooms and really modern conversion. Breakfast was fantastic with great choice and omelettes cooked to order Location was perfect to be the town and John Frost Bridge Had to stay another night due the storm . Had an enjoyable 2 days. Not for families with kids (best for single men?)
This is not a hotel to stay with family. We booked via hotels.com and thought we could sleep with one child in our bed (plus one room for the other two). Apparently this only applied to infants and the "insurance" did not allow this. The 'insurance' thought it was safer for a 12 year old to be in a room on their own. So we paid for a third room. We were told it was the wrong hotel for us. Not what you want to hear at the end of a long day's bicycling when you get to your hotel. Also, this is the first time in a decade this has ever happened with hotels.com, so a bit of a shock, after living around the world, to find the Netherlands as a child/family unfriendly place. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, but this is what happened.

We had a lovely stay here. The room was clean and spacious with a modern, well equipped bathroom. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was varied and tasty. Even though covid 19 restrictions were in affect we were still made to feel as comfortable as possible. Walking distance from the beautiful sonsbeek park and a bus ride from the hoge de veluwe national park. Very local to the town centre
