We tried and tried to call and message the property and never received a response. La Fortuna is somewhat out in the country without many on the spot lodging options. "Wow! What a wonderful property, we did not want to leave. So comfortable and luxurious, with beautiful verandah and an outside bathtub and shower. Our teenagers loved it too, gorgeous pool area and comfortable rooms and great kitchen. We also so enjoyed viewing toucans, humming birds and other wildlife right from our porch. Good WiFi and netflix etc. Laundry also done for us. Overall a brilliant stay!"

"When they say that 4x4 with high clearance is required, it is no joke. At least if you turn from Rt 142 driving from Monteverde. 6km of off roading at crawl speed. Fun if you are prepared. The road from the opposite direction is better paved, but you would still feel more comfortable in a SUV. Google does not estimate driving time on bad roads correctly. "This was our first time to La Fortuna and this was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms although not large are very comfortable. The bathroom is very well equipped and you have a safe. The only thing I would have wished for was a chair to be able to sit and write. We spent each afternoon in the different pools and met so many people from different places and countries. The lunch we had was also one of our favorites. The soup and the fish were so amazing. We will definitely stay here again. "
