  • Foreman's Cottage is a stylish yet accessible retreat on the beach at Lunan Bay. It has been featured in many interiors and lifestyle magazines and is fitted out to a high standard by its owners. The cottage has been described as 'property nirvana' by journalists as it features a host of features such as a boudoir style master bedroom, open fire, drench shower, and Aga Range. There is a large open plan area downstairs which is painted in calming soothing colours, and a mix of old and new pieces, giving the property the feel that you are in someones home not a rental property. The grounds are fairly extensive which are fenced and mostly laid to lawn, with decked areas for entertaining around the cottage. There is a barbecue and ample parking and disabled access. The accessible yet peaceful unique individual cottage location makes it a great base for visiting other parts of Scotland, or for spending a holiday walking the beach and relaxing.

Another wonderful stay at Foreman's Cottage

Our third stay here and was as wonderful as before - we were so lucky with weather only rained twice and then only briefly. Lots of sunshine. The proximity to Lunan Water and the beach always the highlight.

Wonderful

Lovely cottage with relaxing ambiance, decorated to high standard with great outdoor space. Secluded & 5 mins walk to lovely beach. Also 5mins walk to nice wee pub/restaurant serving good food. Would recommend & will definitely be back.

The house and location are amazing. Alison was great at getting back to us when we had questions. The beach is amazing and more often than not you have it all to yourself. Great for star gazing and we were fortunate enough to see the northern lights during are stay. WeeCOOK pies are definitely worth a visit and Angus Alchemy

Beautiful cottage in lively lication

Stunning property, lovely sized rooms and enclosed garden. Beach is 5 minutes away down some sand dunes, and is very clean. Only negative is the agar, itwas awful to cook with if you are not used to one.

We had the most blissful break at Foremans cottage. Quiet location and right by the beach. Lunan bay is stunning, and the cottage has everything you need. Tastefully decorated with an enclosed garden that was perfect for our dog. Open coal fire and the bath tub was a favorite. We will be back,

Fantastic 2nd visit

We had another fantastic week at Foremans cottage. The weather was really good to us in 2021 and again in 2024. Great walks on the beach, swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding in the sea and then back to cottage for a warm shower and settling down in the sun trap garden for some lunch. We will be back and would highly recommend.

Peaceful break in a lovely cottage in a stunning location with the added bonus of a large secure garden for our lively dogs. Excellent resources in the cottage with a very friendly farm shop yards away while still maintaining privacy. Extremely approachable and friendly owner and house manager. All in all perfect!

Second time at cottage and we still love it. Location is perfect with access to beach, farm shop for breakfast and restaurant 5 minute walk away. The garden is huge for the dog. She wanted to be in it 24/7!! We'll definitely be back again.

Fabulous Hideaway

The Foreman's cottage at Lunan Bay was exactly what we were looking for. It's location was perfect so close to the beautiful bay, which was one of the main reasons for our stay. You can be as active or relaxed as you want. With plenty to see and do in the surrounding area or just kick back and relax in the beautifully furnished cottage with a glass of your preferred tipple in front of a roaring fire. Would highly recommend this beautiful little getaway and the wonderfully welcoming and friendly locals seal the deal.

Perfect cottage on the beach

Lovely cottage, very clean. Cosy and yet feels spacious! Great outdoor space with rabbit visitors morning and evening. Plenty of outside seating surrounding the house to sit and relax. Perfect location for walking on the beach as well as visiting castles and distilleries. Dogs and dog owners will love it. Would 100% recommend it for whatever holiday you want to have.

Set in a beautiful area with direct access to the beach. A huge enclosed garden for our dogs and seating areas following the sun. The property is tastefully decorated and spacious it’s well equipped. I personally loved the peace listening to the waves at night, drinking coffee outside watching the sun coming up, long walks on the beach with the dogs. There is a small cafe across the road from the property. Arbroath about 6 miles away so shop before you arrive. A perfect getaway property nothing negative about it.

Perfect location for family and 3 dogs. We didn’t want to leave! Access to the beach and woods just beyond the house which was fantastic for walking. House had everything we needed and we even managed to sit out in the garden in the sunshine despite it being October.

Splendid cottage in a fantastic location

Foreman's cottage is a quality property tastefully decorated and very well equipped for self-catering holidays. The owners keep it well maintained and check to see how things are going without being intrusive. The cottage has a safe dog friendly garden area close to the beach but discreetly hidden. The location is right up there for us, 200yds walk through sand dunes and you are on a fabulous beach with enough space to be well away from the crowds. The location is great for accessing all that Angus and Aberdeenshire have to offer, and there is plenty.
