We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every day (especially the coffee!) and had dined in their restaurant one of the evenings. They are super close to a grocery store. "Smack bang in the middle of the old town, situated just in the pedestrianised area. Given the location, there is no parking, but we had no problems finding free parking within a 3 minute walk. (I'd recommend a car so that you can visit outlying towns / villages/ mountains.) The hotel does a good continental breakfast between 7 and 10. L'Aquila has plenty of options for bars, restaurants etc."
