"Our 3 nights stay here was incredible. The owner is open and friendly, warm and welcoming. The room is immaculate, with attention to detail and a complimentary bottle of Vinho Verde. The pool is well situated, clean and warm in the evening. The breakfast is a fantastic spread of traditional and contemporary foods (their daily cake is to die for!). "Very pleasant, clean and low stress place to stay while hiking the caminho. A little off the caminho trail but there is a well maintained hike and bike path from the center of Valença that will take you right to Alma Candida. Breakfast is very good too. "
"The hotel was decent but the reception wasn’t open 24 hours so if you’re arriving late (around 11pm or so), you’ll always have to knock and wake up whoever is in there. There was one night that I almost didn’t get into the hotel because no one was at the reception and the main door was locked. Luckily, a woman who was also staying there arrived and called his boyfriend and unlocked the door for us from the inside. There was also a small spark or kind of a little explosion in one of the sockets in my room. I went to the receptionist but no one was there and waited for more than 30 minutes. A guest who happened to be an electrician helped me out. I decided to transfer hotels after 4 nights of stay. "
