"Samet Ville was a wonderful surprise for us as first-time visitors. It is a rustic setting with a private beach and a wonderfully warm bay inlet. The sand is soft and clean, and the villas range from rustic to modern. The staff was terrific, and the food options were plentiful. This setting is far down the island at Ao Wai, requiring a taxi or motorbikes to move about the island. Food is available from Thai carts and small seaside restaurants. 7-11 is a short walk away. Across the street is a long stretch or tree lined beach. The beach like many in Thailand has quite a bit of litter but the locals try to clean it up. You will need some sort of transportation if you’re planning to go to town. Traffic is light most of the time....
