Our stay at Saxton Lodge couldn't be better. The managers David & Desma were wonderful, always present, extremely helpful and very accommodating - the ultimate "good sort". Rooms are large, well equipped with decent bathroom/showers, heat pump/air conditioning, glass double glazed to prevent noise from the main road, rooms in general were very quiet, you couldn't hear any noise from adjoining rooms or the road when windows are closed (or you can open them up for fresh air which would be great...

From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out we could not fault any part of our stay. We booked two rooms for a party of four, one of which has mobility issues. We were accommodated to the fullest but were also given rooms next to each other and close to the entrance of the hotel which seems like a small thing but actual meant a great deal. The rooms were clean and warm and had everything we needed for our stay. The location is pretty great too - 5 minutes walk away from Tahunanui...

We had the family 2 bedroom unit which was a great size, had everything we needed and more. We were glad of the AC as it was a warm day and the spa bath was a bonus too

Loved the breakfast options. Friendly.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Brilliant view from our room. Dinner at the restaurant was first class.

Nice clean room and close to town. The lady on reception was welcoming. Happy for the price paid! Would stay here again if visiting Nelson

Located a great deal on hire car for us

It had everything we needed, was close to cafes, bars & restaurants. Lots of nice little touches throughout. Very comfy bed, & the suite felt plush & cosy. Will definitely stay there again & highly recommend to anyone going to Nelson.

Friendly staff at reception, large clean room, handy location

Room was great but would of been good to at least have had a microwave. Love that had the restaurant right there. Great food and staff

We have stayed there twice now and the quality comfort cleanliness and pleasant staff are consistent.. All the important things are there but more importantly there is no skimping on the little stuff .... a vast array of teas and coffees including plunger grounds, laundry powder, laundry facilities in the unit, heated bathroom floor, big bed and the usual welcoming smile

Fantastic value for money, lovely room, very comfortable bed, lovely quaint grounds and the lunch was delicious. We will be back!

Spacious with separate kitchen. No negatives.

This is a nice, clean and well-maintained motel. It is well positioned, close to the beach. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He gave us an excellent explanation about all of the attractions around the area with recommendations for what to do and where to eat. We will stay there again when we are in Nelson.

Sunsets were terrific. Very spacious.

Great stay. Recommended.

Facilities: Modern; Value: Affordable; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Spotless; The beach is not far down the road

We had an amazing time The beds were super comfy and it’s very clean. We had the room overlooking the football field. The roof had a balcony attached which became my favourite spot. The best part was meeting Fraser. He gave us a super warm welcome and made sure our stay was perfect in every way. While cooking I accidentally dropped and broke the microwave turntable but he replaced it within ten minutes and did not charge us anything extra at all. We are very grateful to him. The motel is...

Great hotel in the middle of town, 30 seconds to 5min walk to all bars, restaurants and a movie theater. Would happily stay again.
