We have stayed in this community previously and love the area. Overall we just felt this cabin was not cleaned well. I know they have a cleaning person, but there were dirty walls, stained carpet that smelled of animal urine, dirty wood floors, the bed smelled like someone had slept in it and they hadnt washed the sheets. We bought detergent and washed the sheets and pillow cases to continue staying there. It was nice and quiet at night and the nature is great. It was definitely rustic, which we didn't mind, but overall it just didn't feel clean. Our experience did not match the photos or other reviews.

House is great on the outside. Perfect location on quiet mountainside. The inside is in need of repair, and cleaning. Previous guest must have had male dog that urinated everywhere.
For three guys there to play golf, the property was OK. Nothing fancy. It should be spelled out that the third bedroom is in the loft and one must climb a ladder to get to it. TV worked fine. Good WiFi. Plenty of hot water. Beds OK. Other amenities OK. Could use some upgrades and repairs.
Overall the house was okay. Nothing special. Dog friendly was probably the best part about it and the neighborhood is cool besides the neighbors feeding the deer in their yard.We never received check-in information and it took over 5 hours to get into the house. We ended up calling VRBO customer service after reading another review that they experienced the same thing. The host contact information is not correct and once we got into the house their response was to text another number. There were zero house instructions and information. I had to text the random number to ask for WiFi. After searching all over for the tv remote we finally found it under the couch. The house was clean enough to not feel grossed out but overall the house isn’t in the best condition. I suppose it was the cheapest option in the neighborhood but I would pay more for a nicer, better housing experience next time we are in Angel Fire.
Outside it looked un-cared for. I could not get in when I arrived. I never got an email giving me info or a door code ahead of when I was supposed to get there. The owner was not answering my texts. I ended up having to call VRBO customer support to get the door code. There were no towels. Luckily I had brought one. Then two days later when I wanted to do a load of laundry I found the towels, in the washer, still dirty. So I had to wash the towels before I could use the washer. In the kitchen someone had done all the dishes but had not put them away so they were stacked up on the counter. It was like the cleaning service had started and then left before they finished. I'm not really hard to please so I just dealt with it all but I will not stay here again. I was here with friends who also had a rental house up the road and the difference between theirs and mine was dramatic.
This was our first time to stay in Angel Fire. Enjoyed our stay very much. House was perfect for us. Good beds, nicely stocked kitchen and great patio for enjoying hanging out and eating. There were 3 of us and we had plenty of room. It’s an easy drive to the golf course, the lake for fishing, town and the ski resort.
We are from Texas and the temperatures have been over 100 degrees every day so coming to Angel Fire was a nice break from the heat! The property was great! It was very clean and well stocked. We did want to make something needing a mixer and we found the beaters, but not the mixer. We just beat it by hand! Over all, it was a great place to stay!
