My family enjoyed our stay. We did a little fishing, played basketball, set around the bonfire and listened to the coyotes at night. Very relaxing weekend and that was our goal.
Overall it was a great stay. Very warm and cozy house on a quiet dirt road. Homeowner provided plenty of bedding, towels, etc. I will def7nitely be using this house for future trips.
It was great. We had about 10 people. We met the owners, who were really nice and accommodating. Very nice view, pretty sunset, fished the pond, plenty of room and very close to Tall Pines.
The view on the property was beautiful!! The house was very spacious and beautifully done! It was well stocked with towels and extra blankets. Our group of 6 felt extremely comfortable. Check in was made very easy! It is very close to Tall Pines ATV park. We were able to ride our ATV's over with ease. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!
Peaceful slice of the countryside. Fun with a group-sitting around the bonfire...awesome stars ...watching the deer and ducks in the dawn/dusk. ENJOY!!!
House had its roots but a great sized house. Plenty of seating to accommodate rooms to guest amount. Do suggest an oven temp gauge as we had no idea when it was up to temp. Super easy to clean up and checkout! We loved that it was private!
This was a step back in time with bare essentials. We enjoyed our time on this beautiful property. The house was clean with adequate heat, towels and space. The creaky uneven floors added to the country charm. All the bedrooms are up narrow stairs with a bathroom on the main floor. Plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the country air. Town is not to far away.
Was looking to disconnect from distractions from everyday life, this was a great place to do it, we had couple of nights at the fire pit and we brought our projector and watch Signs on the side of the barn, We thought it was the proper movie because of the property being surrounded with corn fields.

Flies Flies Flies
The home is very old but charming. Its a very old farmhouse. One issue with older homes is cluster flies. When we walked into the house they were EVERYWHERE and they were not shy. You needed to keep your mouth shut or you would be swallowing them. We went to the store right away and bought some fly tape and hung them around. No lie, 4 of them were filled by morning. This did not put a dent into the population. They were alive and dead everywhere. We left on lights downstairs so they would stay there which worked pretty well.
Another small thing was the grass was high (4-5 inches) and you need to walk through it to get to the house. Its okay until its wet and you are leaving to go to a funeral and your shoes and pants get wet from it.
I know there are next to no options and we would have left right away if we had an option. We did leave a day early and I told the owner why, he NEVER even responded.
My suggestion would be to have an agreement with the owner prior to booking that the flies are taken care of and the grass is mowed.
Good luck as there really are not other options in this area.
We loved staying in this farmhouse. It was spacious for 6 people. We especially enjoyed walking around the lake near sunset. It was a wonderful place to relax for a weekend.
Farmhouse and antiques were beautiful. We enjoyed the pond and exploring the fields. Morning walks every day had gorgeous views of fog in the valley and sheep from the neighboring farm. Best of all - viewing the midnight sky, the milky way and millions of stars. Wish we had brought the telescope! I'd return again!!
If we could have changed anything, it would have been to be able to stay longer. We all fell in love with this hundred year old farmhouse. So comfortable and the scenery around the house was amazing The home was well stocked. We look forward to staying there again. I cannot give a four star,I would give it a 4.5 or 4.6 SO I'm giving the house and property a 5 Star.
