The best area to stay in Ambri is the village centre itself, offering convenient access to local amenities and the stunning natural surroundings.

Ambri is a small, alpine village located in the Leventina Valley, characterized by traditional Swiss chalets and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The main road, Via Cantonale, runs through the village, connecting it to other parts of the valley. You'll find a few local eateries and shops dotted along this road, and it's an excellent base for exploring the region's hiking trails.

For couples looking for a tranquil escape, staying in the village centre provides easy access to picturesque walks and the opportunity to truly unwind amidst the mountain scenery. Many accommodations here offer balconies with incredible views of the valley and surrounding peaks, great for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening aperitif.

Families will also find the village centre appealing due to its peaceful environment and proximity to outdoor activities.

The best time to go to Ambri depends entirely on whether you're seeking winter sports or a summer hiking experience.

For those looking to hit the slopes, the winter months, particularly from December to March, offer the best conditions. The region receives consistent snowfall, ensuring excellent skiing and snowboarding opportunities. This period is also ideal for enjoying the cosy, alpine atmosphere.

If you prefer outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the region, the summer months, from June to September, are perfect. The weather is generally warm and sunny, making it ideal for trekking through the mountains and enjoying the pristine lakes.
