The Hummingbird Cottage has a queen loft, kitchen, bathroom, living room, queen sleeper sofa and solar A/C. Next door, the private studio has a queen bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and A/C. Perfect for couples, friends or a small family who want to stay together with space of their own.

Hummingbird Ridge sits high above The Hummingbird Gap along Belize’s Hummingbird Highway, (considered one of the most breathtaking and scenic drives in Central America) surrounded by the Maya Mountains, tropical jungle and incredible views. While the setting feels wonderfully peaceful and removed, there are great local restaurants along the highway as well as small local shops and roadside stands where you can pick up fresh produce and everyday essentials. For a larger grocery shop, we recommend stocking up in Belmopan before arrival. The location also makes a great base for exploring caves, waterfalls, swimming holes, national parks and the Stann Creek coast, including Hopkins.

Guests booking this listing have private access to both Hummingbird Ridge cottages and the surrounding guest areas, including hiking trails and a natural creek right on the property. Explore the trails, wander down to the creek or simply find a quiet spot to enjoy the mountain and jungle surroundings.

A 4WD or AWD vehicle is required to access the property due to its elevated location above The Hummingbird Gap. Once you’re here, you can park the car, slow down and enjoy having nature, and trails right outside your door.

The cottage features a comfortable bedroom with a plush queen-sized bed, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the essentials, including a stove, refrigerator, microwave, and basic cooking utensils, allowing you to prepare simple meals at your convenience. The bathroom is modern and clean, featuring a walk-in shower, fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries.

The property is perched above The Hummingbird Gap, so there is no public transportation directly to the cottages. We recommend picking up your rental vehicle upon arrival and stocking up on groceries and provisions in Belmopan before heading to the property.
Once settled in, you’ll be well positioned for exploring the Hummingbird Highway, local restaurants and roadside shops, waterfalls, caves, national parks and the Stann Creek coast. Hopkins also makes an easy day trip when you’re ready for some beach time.
